Martin reviewed: Carve a Wooden Spoon '23

"Beautiful setting and our instructors Chris and Paul were both excellent tutors and practitioners. All equipment supplied if you don't have your own and many practical tips and advice shared throughout the day - eg which woods to use, tool sharpening skills, tool use and especially the use of chrome polish as a honing paste..! Got to say not cheap at £75 but all in all a fantastic day. I went home and carved another spoon the very next day! Thank you."

Surrey Wildlife Trust responded:

"Thank you for your review Martin. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the day and that you are now hooked on carving!"

Mark kirk reviewed: Advanced spoon carving techniques

"This was a great time advancing skills in spoon carving. Nick was really knowledgeable and great at explaining what is needed to create a spoon. It was a relaxing and informative course with so much learnt from the time spent. In my opinion Nick is under pricing himself as I’ve seen similar courses for a lot more and this man knows his stuff and is patient and friendly in his teaching approach. I would definitely use the service provided by Nick in the future and highly recommend anybody who really appreciates the benefits of green wood working to sign up for some of his precious knowledge. It was a long drive from Leicester for me but so worth it. Thanks Nick and Debbie who even supplied hot beverages which unfortunately didn’t get tested due to enjoying the lesson. "

Gosman Spoon Co. responded:

"Thank you so much Mark for your kind review. It was a pleasure to meet you."

Sally Pounds reviewed: Slate mosaic workshop at Jo Garden Art

"What a wonderful day at Jo’s beautiful studio. So many choices to be made when choosing from the colourful slate pieces and then from the multitude of coloured glass, stone and shale! I left feeling emotionally drained I think but with two pieces of work that I’m so happy with. It’s great to work in a group of creative people. Thanks to Jo for the help and suggestions and her husband for the coffee! I bought a kit to make at home and can’t wait to get started. "

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Sally! Really pleased you loved the day and went away with pieces you are happy with. Lovely group of people at the workshop who all went away with completely different pieces of art! Enjoy making the kit - don't hesitate to make contact if you have any questions. Jo xx"

Sue Renn reviewed: Copper Foil Technique Stained Glass

"We spent a day at Dragonfly Glass Art, making copper-foil glass sun catchers. Amanda was friendly and welcoming and checked what we already knew before starting. She gave a demonstration of glass cutting and then we had a chance to practice until confident before choosing the patterns for the pieces we’d make. Amanda has a good selection of patterns and, during the day we made three pieces each. Each technique was demonstrated clearly and then we were able to make our own pieces, with Amanda providing help when needed. I’m very pleased with what we made and would happily recommend this course. "

Dragonfly Glass Art responded:

"Hi Sue, Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review! It was lovely to meet you and Jas, and it was a pleasure to spend the day teaching you! All the best, Amanda "
