Harry Fullerton reviewed: Blacksmithing - one to one - Hammer Skills

"This day was so good I came back for another. I knew it was for me as soon as I heard the health and safety talk. Essential and practical. First day was a present. I went on about it so much I got another. Bob is a natural teacher. He's patient and constructs the course around you as it goes along, so you have just the right amount of pace matched to your skill level. It's not until you get home that you realise how much you have learned. It's not very often you get to learn alongside a master craftsman. I'll be back"

Jenny reviewed: Kate Morrell willow sculpture courses

"I attended this course with my parents this weekend and had an excellent time. None of us had done any weaving before, and left at the end of the day with a fully formed heron, runner duck and fawn. Thank you Kate for all your patience, teaching and hospitality - we achieved what none of us had really thought possible at the start of the day, and that we can now display in pride of place! Lunch was also fantastic. Thank you again Kate - we would highly recommend this course!"

Louise Virley reviewed: Weekend upholstery courses - Oxfordshire & Berkshire Borders

"I spent last weekend with my daughter and a friend on this excellent course led by Philip. There were ten of us, all with different projects, which meant that as well as learning about our own piece, we had an insight into other techniques. I have been so inspired by the course that I am signing up to a longer course nearer my home. Philip is a generous, patient and obviously very experienced teacher, with a good sense of humour so there was some gentle banter going on in the room which added to the enjoyment of an already fun weekend. And he provided delicious hot cross buns and other goodies to keep up our energy."

Clair Warner reviewed: Create an amazing acrylic masterpiece on A4 canvas with Deana Kim Page

"I thoroughly enjoyed my morning with Deana at Parndon Mill. If you are nervous/unsure Deana will quickly put you at ease..... if nothing else her sheer enthusiasm is infectious! It was my first experience in working with Acrylics, and the session was unstructured so you could explore what you wanted to do. Deana teaches in a random, enthusiastic, 'can do' manner which is supportive. I have a ADHD level of attention, so Deana's tendency to switch attention and conversation between people in the room suited me perfectly. Thanks Deana"

Nicky reviewed: One-to-One Private workshop

"Mosaics was my first course. It was a lovely day with a very relaxed atmosphere....until I realised I had been over ambitious with my design and had to work faster. There was plenty of materials to choose from and top quality tools. I took home a beautiful mosaic on mirror. Oh, and we had a really great lunch too! I'm looking forward to my second course which is already booked."

Helen M reviewed: Oak stool making experience - rustic carpentry & green wood work

"I actually live in London but decided to travel up to Leicestershire do this course after seeing all the recommendations and I'm very glad I did. The experience of learning to use the different woodworking tools was really enjoyable and I was really happy with the end result. It was very gratifying to start the day with some branches of wood and go home with a hand-crafted piece of furniture at the end of it. Ian was a fantastic and enthusiastic teacher and I would recommend his courses without hesitation. I felt that the course was also very good value for money considering you get several hours of one-on-one tuition and a beautiful piece of furniture to go home with. I was also good knowing that you are helping to support a countryside business."

"I had an excellent day with Iain. It was a gift from my husband for a special birthday. I have always been interested in glass and Iain was very informative so I learnt a lot. Many things that I had not thought about before. I will now look at a pieces of stained glass with new eyes, not only recognising their beauty but also really appreciating the amount of work that goes into them. Iain is a great tutor and very patient. I would highly recommend this course."

Luke Smith reviewed: Knife Making and Bladesmith Classes: Hand-Forged Viking Knife

"Had my one day knife making course yesterday (17/2/18) and had an amazing day. John Steve and Ollie were great and were so knowledgeable and happy to help. I have never done anything like this before and was happy to leave with a fire poker and my own man blade. Paced at a really good level and never felt rushed or things not going quick enough. I drove 2 hours from the midlands to do this course and would happily go again tomorrow! Great course would highly recommend"
