About the Course
This two day watercolour workshop will take place mostly in the open air (unless the weather is very bad), with some studio time as well. It is suitable for watercolour painters with some experience, whether plein air or studio based.
To begin this two day workshop Andrew will paint a demonstration watercolour, explaining as he does so the things you need to know about working outside. He will offer advise on colour use and mixing, composition, what to put into a picture and equally important, what to leave out. As you embark on your own work he will provide guidance on an individual basis according to your experience and style. Once he has seen the group paint he will be in a better position to address the problems (if any!) that students have encountered. Over the two days you will paint at least two pieces and the course will end with a critique and possibly a final demo from Andrew

Based in a glorious Edwardian banking hall, our fully equipped studios provide ideal spaces where students can work in a relaxed, ambient atmosphere. Located in the heart of Old Harwich, we are just a few yards from the Electric Palace Cinema.
Harwich Town Railway Station is less than a five minute walk away, with hourly trains to Manningtree, where there are mainline connections to Colchester, Chelmsford, London, Ipswich and Norwich. If you are coming by car, there is normally plenty of on road parking, otherwise there is a public car park a one minute walk away. It is always possible to drop off right at our front doors.
