One day workshop making up to 3 mosaic pendant necklaces, lunch provided. This workshop will take place in my shop on the Victoria main Street in Kirkwall. Orkney is full of archaeological heritage sites and has beautiful coastlines. Boasting two thriving towns it is full of artists and creative's. There are various festivals throughtout the year and these can be found on Orkney.com During this one day workshop you will learn how to design, cut and shape various tiles and recyclable tesserae and make up to 3 jewellery pendants. Whilst the glue is drying I will provide a light lunch. When we return we will grout the pieces and choose either a ribbon or ball chain to hang them on, unique gift bags are included for your unique pendants. Then they will just need a polish at home the day after. These are ideal special gifts or simply for yourself! These courses run on demand so please contact me for future dates, or to arrange a personal date for you if there are 2 or more people. I may be able to help source accommodation for you. But Orkney can get quickly booked up in the summer months. A wide range of materials and tesserae is provided to feed your creative juices, recycled materials are also available such as china, beads, shells, old jewellery as well as more conventional tessarae such as glass and ceramic. If you have any tiny bits or pieces at home that you would like to incorporate into the pendant please bring them along with you. Along the way we will discuss various mosaic techniques and possible future projects. Also covering the essential safety rules and best practices. Books will be on hand to help with the design process and a selection of completed mosaic pieces will be on show to see what further possibilities are available using this exciting medium. This workshop is suitable for beginners as you will be offered as much support as is needed, however a certain amount of dexterity it needed as the pieces are quite small that we work with. You will be helped and encouraged to explore your own creative process.

Formerly known as "More Mosaics", I relocated to the beautiful Orkney Islands in 2019 from Lancashire, to continue my creative journey offering my various craft workshops to locals and visitors alike. I can now offer a twin room and can accommodate 2 visitors if required. The Islands offer lots of inspiration, and I hope to expand and grow my workshops to include local activities in the future such as collecting beach pebbles to decorate in mosaics!
