About the Course
My 'One Day Mosaic course' is held at my garden studio in the heart of the Nidderdale hills. Surrounded by the peace and quiet of nature, you can relax, feel inspired and create a variety of mosaic ideas that will be available.
We will start the morning by choosing one of several bases to mosaic on to, they will be a large stone for the garden or hearth, a piece of grey, rustic slate, a mirror frame or a piece of ply wood. Once the base has been decided you will then design your mosaic, I have lots of reference books in the studio or feel free to bring your own ideas.
We will then transfer your chosen design onto the base and mosaic using the direct method. The materials used will be suitable for interior or exterior placing.
The course will be run by myself, Ruth Wilkinson. I have been a professional mosaic artist for over 15 years creating mosaics for both public commissions and private. My latest creation is situated at Robin Hood's Bay on the East coast of Yorkshire. The mosaic is 50 mtr's in length running along the sea wall. A short film about it is available on Youtube - search Robin Hood's Bay sea wall mosaic - or visit our website for the link.
So I look forward to meeting you for a creative day in front of a log burning fire, amazing views and gentle music.
