Course Start Dates
About the Course
Students will be exploring techniques and materials under the guidance of one of our most dynamic artists - Mark Hearld RCA. Mark will spend some of the first day demonstrating techniques and showing how he uses a variety of materials in his collage work. You will also make your own paste papers for use in your work and start to create some collage work. Day two continues to build on the first day, culminating in at least one large scale collage - often two. By the end of the workshop, we are confident you will each have created some original and vibrant work under Mark's expert guidance and learnt some valuable skills for future work.
Some drawing skills (though not essential) will be valuable to benefit fully from this workshop.
Mark Hearld studied illustration at Glasgow College of Art and then completed an MA in Natural History Illustration at the Royal College of Art. He is a highly versatile artist who uses a wide range of media in his work. His love of nature and interest in English popular art is evident throughout his fabulously vibrant work. You can discover more about him by taking a look at his inspirational Work Book which is available in bookshops now.
