Description

Next promoted workshop: Tuesday 30th January 2024 Spending time on a creative task is both a pleasure and a joy. It allows us to stop and take time out of our busy lives. It calms and relaxes us and provides opportunities to refocus; creativity engages our imagination and stimulates us. However, not everyone knows how to get a creative task underway, and it can be difficult not knowing where to start or even what to create, so why not join us for a creative boost? We will explain and demonstrate how to make lively marks on different papers, draw from observation and imagination and learn how to select and simplify images and designs. You will also draw with scissors and explore composition. We will explore flowers, plants and foliage displayed in a range of pots, vases and jugs in a light and playful way. The workshop will be delivered by Alison Butler and Liz Wellby; Alison has over 25 years of experience as a textile designer and book illustrator and loves to explore colour in her work. Liz is an experienced artist, teacher and maker, with a particular interest in print. The workshop will be held in The Stables or the adjacent thatched Long Barn, depending on the numbers of people attending. Both are inspirational spaces on a working farm in The South Downs National Park.
