On this workshop, held over three evenings, you will learn the skills to enable you to construct your own corset/boned bodice. Only basic sewing skills are needed to complete this introductory course and you will have your own bespoke corset to take home with you. The bodice can be used for many different purposes. It could be the foundation for an evening gown or even bridal wear, it could also be the base for a Steampunk or Cosplay costumed event. It could also simply be worn with a pair of jeans.
All fabrics and equipment are included and you will work from a provided pattern block available in sizes XXS - XXL. The corsets are beautifully constructed using a layer of traditional cotton coutil, an interlining layer of calico and a top decorative fabric outer layer in your choice of cream or black.
You may wish though to bring your own 1.2m of decorative fabric. This introductory corset has a front busk fastening and uses both steel supports and spiral bones to create the shape, fastening at the back with eyelets and a corset lace.
The course is a three week, one evening a week course, held on Tuesdays beginning June 21st and ending on July 5th.
