Join artist Julie Galante for this online workshop in which you’ll make a series of paper collages using a variety of approaches and techniques.
Collage is a way of creating a visual work of art by combining different elements - be they found images, patterns, bits of text, textured papers - in new and sometimes unexpected ways. We’ll explore collage through a series of tutorials covering different ways to create balance and visual interest, using a variety of subject matter (landscapes, faces, found poetry) as inspiration for our creations.
This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, as well as those with experience who’d like to explore new approaches to making collage.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
This workshop includes a two-hour live Zoom session, access to a series of instructional videos and demos, and a one-hour sharing Zoom event (all in all the equivalent of around a full day of workshop activities, which you can work through at your own pace). Additionally, participants will receive a custom kit of collage papers via post in advance of the workshop (first class postage to UK addresses is included).
The optional one-hour Zoom sharing event takes place at 10am a week after the initial live workshop - in this case 27 October. This will be a casual opportunity for you to share your work, see what others have made, and ask any questions you may have.
There will be a short list of the additional supplies you’ll want to gather before the live workshop — things such as scissors, glue, and inks or watercolours, which many of you will already have on hand.
