Description
Join me at one of my printmaking workshops at my studio in Derbyshire, near Chesterfield, where we will be exploring the technique of drypoint engraving, using a zinc or copper plate, special inks and print press. The day will start with an introduction to the medium with examples of prints and the original plates, then after a coffee break we get started! Students will learn the method and how to produce a variety of tones and marks, making the most of the subtle nature of drypoint. So we can share materials and ideas effectively, classes are limited to around four people. Classes are fun and relaxed and at the end of each day you will have a series of images to take home for framing or making into greetings cards etc.
What's included in the price?
All materials for printing are supplied, including your printing plate. Refreshments supplied including tea, coffee and lashings of biscuits. Please bring a packed lunch, also an apron or old shirt, your reading glasses if you need them (the marks you make can be very detailed) and finally an idea for what you would like to print, something quite simple works the best. If you don't have a particular idea I can suggest something which would work well.
