Exploring experimental collographs in Derbyshire
Description
Join artist and maker Liz Wellby on the edge of the Peak District, with an introduction to collographs. Collographs are an interesting type of print; they can be printed by hand or run through a press and printed as relief or intaglio. Exploring the theme of Rhythm & Pattern, or a theme of your choice, we will create drawings and collage and develop 2 dynamic plates, before printing a lively range of outcomes. This workshop is suitable for those with art/craft experiences now wishing to try a new process or those with experience of other printing techniques, who now wish to try a more experimental method of working; be prepared for an upper body work out. Liz will host the workshop at her studio - The Slipper Studio. The venue is beautifully presented, with handcrafted workbenches and a wood burner, with views down into the village. About the tutor Liz Wellby is a versatile and experienced artist, teacher and maker, with a particular interest in sculpture and printmaking. Following the completion of a Fine Arts degree at Loughborough University and subsequent post graduate studies, she returned to Derbyshire, where for over 25 years she has lived and worked. Liz now lives in a small village on the edge of the Peak District, working from her home studio - The Slipper Studio, kept company by her husband and a cat called Bert. It is possible to arrange this workshop on different dates; should you wish to book 3* places for friends and family, the cost is £85 per person or £125 each for 2 people; please contact me via ‘message the tutor’ if this is of interest or you have any questions or queries.
What's included in the price?
The workshop runs from 10 - 4 pm, with places limited to just 3* and costs £85 per person, including: tuition, materials and use of equipment, with refreshments provided throughout the day; just bring your lunch.
