(£85 each for 2 people, individual tuition is £115)
Explore your creativity in a relaxed and enjoyable workshop with Rachel at Danywern. The studio is nestled on a hillside near Crickhowell, surrounded by nature with views over the black mountains. A perfect location to block the world out for a while!
In this workshop you will be taught Intaglio printing. Intaglio means 'to carve' and is the opposite of lino. Instead of printing from the top surface, the ink is held in the recessed areas and squeezed out onto damp paper using a press. You can try either Collagraph (fixing textures to the plate), or drypoint (drawing on and indenting your plate). You will be guided through the whole process beginning with a short demonstration, and will have instruction on the use of tools, how to get the best out of your designs and print your final pieces.
Printing can be done onto a variety of papers and fabrics. You will learn the technique in a relaxed atmosphere and leave with a beautiful hand printed item that you will be proud of.
Suited to both total beginners or the more experienced.
*** Due to recent events, the workshops will be limited in numbers for the time being, to individuals or couples. The studio is in a detached building and all equipment will be sterilised before the workshop, masks will be worn and distancing measures will be taken, so you feel safe while you work.

I spent an absolutely lovely day with Rachel. I learned a lot and it was just what I wanted. I shall certainly try to come again. The most wonderful studio in a sublime setting.
I am about to use the work I made into some pices of textile art to show in our Art in June event at The Red House, Hever, Kent, from June 7th until the 23rd.
Response from Rachel Cadman Craft Courses:Thank you Angela,
