About the Course
Come and join me at the Creative Coffee Hub in Selly Oak, Birmingham and learn the traditional art of patchwork and quilting. We will begin with English paper piecing hexagons and grandmother's fans. I will then teach you how to rotary cut for precise piecing and you will make 9 patch blocks using chain piecing. Once your blocks are constructed we will layer and wad them ready for hand quilting and binding. A more detailed class schedule will be emailed to you after booking. Warning: May become addictive!
Skills include: invisible applique, half and quarter square triangles, 9 patch blocks, basting, hand quilting, binding and labelling your quilt.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
All materials, instructions and equipment are included. Plus tea and homemade cake :).
You are very welcome to bring your own sewing machine to use during classes but I do have machines available.
I'd not sewn more than a button for 25 years and I'd never used a sewing machine. Clair took us through the processes step by step and at our own pace. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and found it incredibly relaxing after a busy day. The cakes and company were also fabulous!
