Learn to sew a tote bag using a till roll technique
Description
Ever wanted to use up scraps of material from other projects? Or have you just finished a quilt, and want to make a coordinating smaller piece with all of your offcuts? Till paper scrap quilting is a great technique for using up all of those small bits of fabric! We'll focus on learning this technique of using till roll paper to sew scraps of fabric together. It is a foundation piecing technique that uses paper till or receipt rolls. The final project you make will be a beautiful & colourful tote bag. Come along and try something new!
What's included in the price?
If you have special fabrics you would like to use, please bring your collection of fabric scraps and some plain fabric for the background and backing. Quilting cotton fabric is best, but you can also use offcuts from clothing or bedding that your family has loved. Otherwise, we will have plenty of materials for you to use on the day. And the till roll paper will be provided. Please bring your sewing machine and a neutral sewing thread. Please bring a packed lunch for the day or you can buy yours in the Morrison's café. ** We are a small charity devoted to getting people into craft. We aim to keep our workshop price as low as possible in order to make it as accessible as we can. We are always taking in donations of fabric and craft supplies, which we put towards future projects. So if you are clearing out your cupboards, please feel free to bring anything to the session that needs a new home. **
