An introduction to free motion embroidery

X

Description

This is a 3 hour introductory course which will teach you all about free motion embroidery by using fabrics, threads and applique.

Free motion embroidery is a technique Holly specialises in to create bespoke pieces with machine embroidery to personalise.

The technique is much like drawing just with a sewing machine. It can be such a fun technique once you've got the hang of it. You will finish your workshop having created many samples and having gained lots of knowledge surrounding this technique.

Firstly we'll take a look at lots of samples providing you with inspiration for your own samples. Holly will show you lots of different ways to practice your free motion providing you with all the tools you need to further your embroidery at home.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

You will need a machine that can successfully free motion embroider, meaning you can either put the feed dogs down or they can be covered. You can also purchase a darning foot beforehand but not strictly necessary as one can be provided to you on the day.

You will not be shown how to thread your machine so please make sure you can do this.

Tea/coffee provided. Taught in a cottage environment in a light, airy working space.
