Claire Fuller reviewed: Large Outdoor Plaster Hare sculpture kit

"Myself and 4 friends purchased the home kits from Jo as we live in France and really wanted to make the sculptures after seeing a friends giant hare she had made. We ordered the Wire small hare, clay hare and cat kits. One of us was in the Uk so able to drive them back to france for us. Utterly fantastic service from the first point of placing the order to finishing our sculptures and sharing our work with Jo. We were thrilled with how everything in the kit was organised and the video to guide us. I particularly loved moving the wire frame to create a unique hare (I thought I was going to have to create the whole wire frame so what a bonus it was complete!) and applying the plaster band aid. We were all overwhelmed with how they were when finished. My advice for anyone thinking they couldn’t do it is … GO FOR IT! We all had so much fun especially making them in 42c heatwave working in the shade in France and they all still turned out fabulous !! Excellent communication with Jo from the onset."

"I booked this course for my daughter and myself several months ago and boy, was it worth the wait. We had a fabulous day both coming home with fabulous completed hares and planning to book the 2 day course. Jo was super organized, the timing was great to allow everyone to finish and all it was a fantastic day in a truly wonderful setting."

"Set in beautiful gardens, in peaceful countyside, this course did wonders for my wellbeing. Each step of creating our hare was rewarding and Jo was extremely good at demonstrating the stages when required and moving us on. Jo and her husband are very warm and welcoming and there was an abundance of tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day which you could take whilst walking through the mowed pathways in the gardens. I am delighted with my final hare and would highly recommend the course."

"I attended my second hare course with Jo. It was as perfect as the first one, I did a moon gazing hare this time and finished it off in light copper. I am so pleased with the result and it will have pride of place in my garden. Jo and Andy make you so welcome and the kettle is permanently on. Jo as a tutor is clear in her instruction, friendly in encouragement and helps where needed. Thank you Jo for another amazing day."

"My sister and I did Jo’s wonderful course together yesterday. My husband bought the voucher for my birthday and it was a fabulous gift. Arriving a bit early, Andy made us a cuppa and we walked around the beautiful garden, admiring the different sculptures. The setting was so peaceful and Jo and Andy were extremely friendly. Jo was an excellent teacher; her explanations and demonstrations were clear and she gently encouraged, offering advice in a supportive way. The group of 6 of us all got along well and everyone ended up with a sculpture to be proud of - all unique, in spite of beginning with the same armature. We bought a couple of leaping hare kits which we are planning to do together in a few weeks, whilst we can still remember how to do it! (There’s a video in the kit to follow, though). I would definitely recommend the course to anyone who fancies trying something different. You’ll end up with something beautiful to bring home and have some fun along the way. Thank you, Jo."

"I took part in Jo's 1 day hare sculpture course yesterday, and I've got to say it was the best craft course I've ever attended! Jo's studio is a wonderful space to get creative in, which sits in her beautiful and peaceful garden, and Jo is a fantastic tutor. She is very knowledgable and struck the perfect balance between leaving us to create our sculptures, and offering help and advice when needed. I found the whole day a very rewarding experience, and despite being worried I wouldn't finish, I came home with a fabulous moongazing hare which I love! I would highly recommend Jo and her courses to everyone - if you're thinking of booking - do it - I promise you won't be disappointed!"

"My father and I attended the one day Hare sculpture workshop and Wow - what a fabulous course! Jo was engaging, enthusiastic and open - a true joyous soul. We had no previous experience but by the end of the day we both had created sculptures that we were very proud of. Jo provided loads of advice and suggestions. The workshop is calm and in a beautiful serene garden. Thank you so much for a very special day, and I very much hope to be back."

From the beginning we were made to feel very welcome, and the day went so fast. Jo is fun and patient, and has a wealth of knowledge which she is happy to share. The course is very enjoyable, no previous experience is needed as Jo guides you through all the steps. I came away with a lovely sculpture and memories to treasure. "If you are wanting an amazing gift Jo's hare sculpture course is perfect. Jo is an amazing lady, very generous with her time and knowledge. The studio is in the garden with inspirational sculptures dotted around. A small group making it really lovely for a group to gel. "What a fantastic day......starting as a complete novice of sculpturing, to leaving with a hare to be proud of! Jo is a great teacher, and guides you every step of the way, along with plenty of refreshments and fun. Working from her lovely workshop, the day flies by, as you complete each step of building the model. "Oh my goodness what an amazing day. I attended the one day workshop on Saturday 14 May with a friend. We had treated ourselves as a joint birthday treat. Travelling from the Midlands we were worried if it was worth it but wow it was. Jo was so welcoming, informative and joyous. I’ve done many a crafting course but this was the best. We loved every minute and left with a hare sculpture to be proud of. Thank you Jo."
