"Will has extensive knowledge and experience of carving. More importantly, he is willing and able to teach the subject. Prior to the course, I was asked for some information on my past experience, I described this and explained the specific area of carving I was interested in. "My husband and I were warmly met by Amina and over a cup of coffee we chatted telling Amina it was over 40 years ago since I had picked up a paint brush (O level Art) and Neil only painted the walls at home! The studio has lots of natural light and is perfect for painting! The room was set up ready for us and other participants with all the materials we needed for the day. We were shown some watercolour painting techniques by Amina who explained as she went along but was more than happy for any questions from us and then we had a go ourselves! We then went onto painting a kingfisher using what we’d learnt but Amina was completely on hand to assist us whilst also making more coffees for us. After our relaxed lunch we were keen to start on the hare and had free reign, again with Amina on hand. It was so relaxing; I honestly don’t think we’ve stayed sat down like that for years! We couldn’t believe how quickly the time went and we had to get back on the road, with our “master pieces”. We’d love to return but as we’re from Wales it’s a long way to go back. However, we do plan to visit the area again and when we do, we’ll definitely book another class. We’d recommend the class to anyone and everyone from beginners onwards as we felt comfortable and the tuition was at our pace. Thanks for a lovely time. Neil & Karyn"

"I absolutely loved this weaving workshop and would highly recommend it. It was really fun in a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. We learnt the basics as well as several different techniques and how to work with different materials. The small class size was ideal, as everyone felt fully supported. Alice was very patient and let us do our thing, but was always there to help and provide advice and tips. She encouraged us to try out new things, which was very inspirational. A great day out on your own or with friends/family!"

I had given this as a birthday gift for a friend and we both really enjoyed the session and came away with a large bar of soap which we plan to cut up and give as stocking fillers for Christmas."

"Very interesting course. William is very knowledgeable, amazing to see the work he has done/doing. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, once the basics were shown we were left to try a sample square..attentive but not in a fussy way. Felt able to ask questions, all were answered politely, with ease and humour. Great day, thoroughly enjoyed it. There were only 2 of us and we were both at the same level...never having done carving before.! Would love to go back again once I have had some practice at home... Recommend it."

"I had the best day completing my 1:2:1 workshop with Moji. Her studio is beautiful and inspiring and I learnt so much about lampshade construction and the craft during my time spent on the workshop. I had no prior lampshade making experience, yet I was able to complete a beautiful gathered lampshade that completely exceeded my expectations! Moji is an excellent teacher and explained everything so clearly and patiently. The 1:2:1 experience meant Moji was able to really clearly demonstrate all the techniques, giving me time to work through each stage and answer all of my questions as we went along. I feel equipped with the knowledge to go on and make many more lampshades and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me."
