I would like to invite you to take part in a memorable experience. Come to Collaborator's Cabin and create your own piece of art on wood. A session lasts up to three hours. Spend the first half an hour of your session finding out about pyrography, meeting other people, sharing ideas and connecting with your inner artist. You will have time to think about your design. If you are not certain what to do I can provide some inspirational materials and advice.
Pick an item to work on; I have a range of boxes, book marks, coasters, fridge magnets, key rings etc. for you to choose from. Before you start, I will show you how the machines work and teach you some techniques. There are some demonstration pieces you can practice on before drawing and burning your your own design.
The best thing about Collaborators Cabin is that you can work at your own pace and take a break whenever you need. You can go into the garden to have some fresh air, and relax or you may browse a range gifts that are available for purchase. At the end of the session, there is some more time to have a friendly chat. You will leave Collaborators Cabin with an original keepsake and maybe even new friends.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
Materials such as boxes, portrait boards, coasters, bookmarks and earrings are included along tea or coffee. Tracing paper and books to copy from are provided for those who don't wish to draw free hand. Two types of machine can be used and a multitude of pyrography tips can be selected for different techniques and desired outcomes.
3 hours (flexible times to suit)

A really relaxing atmosphere with in-depth helpful tuition that helped us create pieces of art that we are really pleased with. A brilliant way to spend a Sunday morning.
I only booked up this workshop yesterday and attended today. Quite a drive for me but well worth every minute.
As I had recently purchased a pyrography kit I wanted to gain a better understanding of this craft and this 3 hour workshop did just that. I didn't actually complete either of my 2 projects but only because they both needed different lessons and Rob provided these through demonstrations and on-going support. Brilliant workshop, totally recommend it. Many thanks Rob
What a fantastic afternoon we had. I took 2 teenager girls to this pyrography afternoon. Rob is an excellent teacher, whom we felt very relaxed with. Lots of design ideas and a great selection of items to work on. Great value for money. Highly recommend this taster session. Thank you so much Rob.
Was a great day for Grandmother and Granddaughter (12), both enjoyed the tuition and found it easy to follow. The work completed was very good and they would highly recommend the course.
My daughter and husband had an absolutely fantastic afternoon today doing pyrography with Rob. Rob was incredibly patient and a great teacher. They both produced amazing pieces of work, and in such a calm peaceful environment. Thank you very much Rob. We would definitely recommend this course .
Response from Collaborators cabin:Thank you so much for you feedback. Im glad everyone was really happy and had a good time.
I had very mixed feelings about going on a pyrography course: much as I love learning new skills I had very low expectations of the possible outcome and did not anticipate being able to produce anything that I would dare to show to anyone else. Together with a friend I went to Rob’s Collaborators’ Cabin one Saturday morning and any feelings of trepidation were definitely misplaced. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Rob gave a short demonstration with very clear explanations and then gave us time to try out the skills he had shown us on scrap wood. Once we had mastered the basics he showed us how to transfer our proposed designs onto wood, and during the morning our ‘masterpieces’ evolved. The results were surprisingly pleasing and we went home with pieces to be proud of. By the end of the session, fuelled by a good supply of tea, we found that we both felt very relaxed and were amazed at what we had produced in the time. Rob is an excellent, enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher, encouraging us at all times and giving us confidence in our own abilities. My grandson loves his Gruffalo , and I have already booked a further course.
This was a great course to attend. There was a very relaxed atmosphere and Rob was very supportive and encouraging. As a result I picked up the technique very quickly and produced work that I had no idea I would have been capable of at the start of the session. Working in Rob's cabin, drinking tea and quality music in the background all led to a really calm time. I loved being able to adapt my picture as I wanted and felt brave enough to add my own ideas to my design - that's a lot coming from someone who would say they are not artistic.
Hope to go back again.
