Ian reviewed: Blacksmithing - one to one - Hammer Skills

"I did the course with my son and had a great time. We have never done anything like this before but the instruction from Bob were excellent and covered the basics of hammering in the morning, which I now know you have to listen to the hammer sound to get the blows right! The afternoon was to make your own thing. I made a fork, though it ended up a little shorted than it should have been (I didn’t realise you could burn metal) and my son made a trivet of his own design, all with a little help from Bob. Thanks Bob."

John reviewed: Beginners Epoxy Resin Workshop

"I was a complete novice when I came to the session. Richard did a good job at showing me the basics and gave me the extra time to make sure I had the ability to make a basic resin table when I left. I'm glad I came and it was well worth the time and the money. I am looking forward to coming back to learn more and taking my 'skill' to the next level."

The River Shop responded:

"Thanks for coming John! Hope you continue to develop your interest in resin and we see you again soon! Richard"

Hilary reviewed: Christmas Wreath Making Kit on Eco-friendly Willow Bases

"I ordered the Easter wreath for myself and was really pleased with the quality of all the materials, the way everything was labelled clearly and packed well. I adapted the design slightly by making the wreath using just the flowers. I made use of the nest and eggs, adding some chocolate eggs too, as a surprise for my granddaughter. She loved it! Thank you. It was a great project."

Jenni Wren Creative responded:

"Hi Hilary How super to hear how you adapted the design and what a delightful idea using the nest to display the Choccie Easter Eggs for your granddaughter. There is something special about a handcrafted item and so happy she loved it? Yes, thank you, I do try my best with the packaging.? I like to recycle and label by hand so was really happy to hear my attention to detail was appreciated. Have a wonderful Easter, Jenni"

"This is the second online workshop I’ve done with Gwen & I enjoyed it just a much as the first. A great way to spend a couple of hours developing a new skill with good company. Kit contains all you need to produce a felted picture just like the one you see on the advert with lots of wool left over to make another one. Highly recommended."

Adriana Main reviewed: Alien spoon carving

"I had a great time learning about spoon carving. Alan was a great teacher and very patient, explaining about some of the carving techniques and safety in using the tools, including an axe! Also the importance of stretching frequently to avoid painful joints. By the end of the day I had managed to create a wooden spoon, albeit a bit on the chunky side but I was very happy with what I managed to produce. In addition, the hospitality provided was excellent, I felt really well looked after by Sim, providing home made delights. Since the course Alan has provided a post workshop information sheet about tools, etc. I would recommend to give this a try!"

Fran reviewed: Felted Pictures Moonlit Night - Full kit, instructions and LIVE online tuition.

"I really enjoyed this course. Melanie's instructions were really clear and even though it was online it was fun working alongside the other participants. The kit had everything needed to make the picture, with plemty left over for another one. Unwrapping the felt picture I had created was very satisfying - quite magical how the wisps of wool laid down on the bubble-wrap turn into a piece of art. It was great to be able to join this from my kitchen and I hope Melanie will continue to run these online even when it's possible to have face to face courses again."

Toni P reviewed: Beginners Crochet 11am - 1pm

"I really found this a great way to start crochet. Emma was very experienced in showing you the way to start, very calm and patient And set her camera up to show her hands and work, so we could see clearly what she was explaining. She also videoed part of it and sent it to us, so we can try it and have the tuition on hand. So great value."

"Hi Toni, I'm glad you got the most from your workshop and I hope you will join me for the next level and future crochet-along courses. Thanks for your review, Emma"

Nicola Tratalos reviewed: Felted Pictures Sunset Seascape - Wool only kit with instructions and LIVE online tuition.

"The kit that Melanie provided was excellent. Lots of lovely yarns, very well collated to allow lots of scope/flexibility and enough for 2 pictures. Beautifully presented too and kind to the environment. The course was excellent. Very friendly, the right pace and really good, clear instructions. The instruction booklet is also very good so I feel confident that I will be able to do more on my own. Melanie has lots of good advice about embellishing, stitching/embroidery etc as well, so I am really looking forward to finishing this project off. I thoroughly enjoyed this course and recommend it wholeheartedly."

Rachael Marsh reviewed: Bristol Bronze Club - 2 day lost wax bronze casting workshop

"This was a beautiful course. Bronze casting was completely new to me and is one of the most interesting processes I have seen. The pace felt relaxed even though much was covered over the 3 days. David is kind, clear and has the perfect balance of giving plenty of guidance whilst still getting you to create your pieces independently. The location was peaceful, near beautiful woods for a walk and it was interesting to see work of craftsmen who use other parts of the building. I was really happy with what I produced and I can't recommend this course enough."

Ore and Ingot responded:

"Thanks very much Racheal, it was pleasure having you in the workshop."

"What a talented young woman and a Marvellous teacher. I wasn’t sure how it would work as an online course, but she made it work! She gave us individual and collective guidance, so we learnt from what others were doing too. Can’t wait for her studio to reopen! Definitely want to visit and meet Claire in person. She has inspired me to do more linocutting! Gai"

Penny de Ruyter reviewed: Online Lino Printing Course with Oxford Linocut Workshops

"Claire is a very calm and patient teacher, who is hugely generous with her knowledge about all aspects of lino cutting - the cutting, the design process and the inking.
