"We had a great time learning watercolour painting with Rachel. Neither of us had much experience but Rachel was very patient and provided good instruction, whilst also allowing us to crack on and do our own thing at times. She's also a very pleasant and interesting person and was nice to chat to. I would fully recommend this course if anyone is looking to give watercolour a go!"

"Myself and my Partner recently took part in Max's Sloyd workshop, and what a brilliant day it was! First off, he was very flexible with our dates and allowed us to change last minute due to work schedules. It was just the two of us and Max during our session, and he made us feel welcome and comfortable from the offset! Not only was he a fantastic and knowlagable teacher, he was also kind and encouraging, and overall a lovely person to spend and afternoon with. Leaving with our spoons have us a genuine feeling of accomplishment, and has left both of us wanting to continue our Sloyd journey! Bonus points for the fire/lovely environment Max has made in and around his workshop"

"A very enjoyable day with Frances and others who were more experienced. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming - don’t be afraid to do it alone as you will quickly be part of the group. The venue is cosy and welcoming and Frances is an energetic and resourceful tutor who quickly puts you at your ease - nothing seems too much trouble. I learnt so much in my first venture - I was very pleased with the result and plan to do more mosaics in the future. "

"I had a lovely day learning how to make a bow. Matt is very knowledgeable and manages an excellent balance between showing you the tools and techniques, and helping out when needed. The location is beautiful, and well maintained. Despite taking the course in late autumn, we kept dry and warm in the shelter, and had lots of hot coffee! I'm very pleased with my final bow - it's exactly the right draw for me. Thank you!"

"My teenage granddaughter and myself did this course on her INSET day from school. We were the only 2 and ascduch got really good tuition and help from Vivien. We both completed our silver jewellery in the afternoon. The morning we spent working with copper/bronze to practice the techniques. It was very enjoyable, and relaxed. Our 'creations' have been greatly admired. A lovely memory making day! "

"We had a wonderful two hours in Karen's treasure trove of a studio. We loved the freedom to create our own, slightly mad, penguins and the variety of materials available was great. It was a very relaxed two hours that flew by and my daughter fell in love with Berty the parrot too!!"

"Brilliant course run by brilliant people. The course (building and weaving a round stool) was incredibly interesting and StJohn's approach to teaching was exactly what I wanted - supportive and expert but also giving me the space to test/try (and mess up if needed but knowing there was always back-up or a way to fix a problem). The food was also DELICIOUS - Byrony's cooking and baking was a very welcome surprise during break and lunch times. Absolutely recommend this course (or any of the courses at The Quiet Workshop)."

"I don’t usually do reviews unless it was something awful and have to warn others or if it is something so good it is definitely worth it. And this van conversation course was the latter!!!!! It was great! Scott had so much knowledge and the two days was filled with information and this information wasn’t random but specialised to your van build. However the only way to get the most out of it is if you/me ask loads of questions through out. And Scott wanted this also so he could tailor the course to the needs of what I was looking for in a van. Finally just be prepared for a lot of information in a short space of time which can be bad if you are not prepared for it but it is all incredibly important and beneficial information. Once again it was a great weekend and well worth the drive down there!! Thomas "
