Lisa Ratcliff reviewed: Stained Glass Copper Foil in New Romney, Kent

"I recently attended a stained glass copper foil workshop, and it was absolutely fascinating! I had never worked with glass before, but the class taught us how to cut glass, a skill I never thought I would master. The process of cutting and shaping the glass pieces was challenging but so rewarding. As someone who had never soldered before, this was an exciting new skill to pick up, and it felt incredibly satisfying to see everything come together into a beautiful piece. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and Yolanda made sure we all felt comfortable with each step. Plus, the lunch provided was delicious, and there was an incredible cream tea to round off the day — a perfect treat after a creative session."

Gwyn Thomas reviewed: Felt Making Paintings

"My partner and I had a lovely day on this course. Josephine was very welcoming and a really good, patient teacher. She took us through the basics of wet felting first, showed us how to lay the wool for the backing, then through suggestions for the picture we wanted to do and finally the process for turning it all into felt. It was well paced, never felt rushed and all in all a great day. Would definitely book other sessions"

Phinefibre responded:

"Lovely to meet you both and thank you for writing a review. Great to hear you enjoyed the workshop, the pacing and content especially as you were an art teacher too, much appreciated. Hope you managed to get back ok as the snow fell quickly later on. Would be great to see you again. "

Karen reviewed: Introduction to Arc or Stick Welding, with award winning metal artist, Roger Russell

"Dad and I had a fun morning but the course details are misleading. We did not produce anything and only practiced the real basics, with very little guidance. We also had to share equipment so restricted the time each of us had. It was a great concept to enjoy father / daughter time but very expensive for what we did. "

High Definition wire sculpture responded:

"Dear Karan, glad you had fun morning . I agree the details of the 3 hour introductory to welding course were not very clear, and people may have thought they could learn to weld and make a dragon fly sculpture in 3 hours , on the cover photo . I have amended the course title and details to make it clear its just a basic learn to weld course . I have also added details about having the correct glass's to be able to see when welding. By way of compensation for your disappointment with my course , I would like to offer you and your dad a free morning or afternoon course where i can guarantee you will take home a steel dragon fly like the one in the cover picture . Kind Regards Roger "

Desi reviewed: Forge a Knife- Blacksmithing and Knifemaking Experience Day

"John was a fabulous instructor; very patient and laid back. It starts with the safety instructions , then choosing what kind of knife you'd like to make (for which John has plenty of examples to help). My son and I had a great time, learning occurred and we have a pair of (two totally different) fantastic knives to show for it! Would heartily recommend this course; my advice would be wear long sleeves (to protect from sparks) and thick socks ( we went in winter, and the forge gets a little chilly when the fire isn't lit!)."
