Abbi reviewed: One day pottery making course for 2 people in Norwich, Norfolk

"Had an enjoyable day 'potter-ing'. Went with the hope of 1 decent pot - but with Pat's patient tutelage made 10 'organic' creations! Not too many were relegated into the Bin of Shame. A lovely location and Pat's sense of humour made for a Grand Day Out. Fabulous lunch whilst watching the snow fall! Very therapeutic and I'm looking forward to collecting the post firing results. Thank you Pat."

lorraine reviewed: Knife making Courses Forged Blacksmith Knife

"Can't believe what my husband has just been through for his Christmas present. I believed I had paid for bush knife making course held at a centre. In truth It was at mr S Lewerance's small terrace house. He had gazebo over the back door and some of the work was done in his kitchen. His equipment was not in the best condition and as for health and safety there was none. I really can't believe I paid £250 and then traveled all the way from the midlands and paid for a hotel on Friday night so as not to be late Saturday morning for this. To say I'm I feel cheated just doesn't cover it. Please please please stay away."

Home OF Heritage Craft Courses And Rural skills responded:

"It is a shame but you do get a disgruntled customer from time to time. I have been passed by the HSE and all aspects of safety are in place. I work outside with adequate coverage and it is a forge so it needs to be well aired. I ensure adequate breaks are given as it does get hot - it is a forge after all and the equipment is well maintained. As they say you cannot please all the people all the time. Judge for yourself from the other reviews."

"I had a wonderful day, learnt so much and gained some new skills. Excellent that there was support there when needed after the first demo. Got on with stuff and guidance and every important step of the way. Then left to it. I could have stayed a lot longer and made much much more. Will most definitely be booking another one. Thank you Gigha"

Ana Paula (Brazil) reviewed: Alchemy of Pigment and Pattern at SAOG Studios

"This has been the most amazing week ... magical is not a helpful adjective, but how else can one express the quality of a time that expands and contracts in such a delicate and organic, comfortable and respectful way? A place in which the flow of the day can fit inspiring thoughts and practical learning with such truth and beauty? Where one learns so much from lines, forms and inner alignment? Gratitude and Abundance is what I take with me from these days and I'm sure my learning will follow for many weeks to come. Thank you for such a nurturing and vital experience. I bow to you for you are true masters!"

Shaun reviewed: One to one photographic tuition London - Online

"A relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable course. The Thames side location was perfect with really interesting subjects and viewpoints, which I would never have considered on my own. Richard was very supportive and encouraging, with endless advice and practical demonstrations as we went along. He has a real knowledge of the technical and artistic sides of photography and a passion to encouraging free thinking and having an individualistic style. A highly recommended course ."

P Mackay reviewed: Fisherton Mill in Salisbury - Claire Demetri Glass Fusing Workshops

"attended a course earlier this month with my daughters, we all loved it. It is the second visit and we will be back in the future. We all made pieces with a christmassy theme that can be brought out year after year as they look so pretty. Once you have attended a course you want to go back as you learn more each time and each piece is so individual. Claire is very patient and explains everything as you go along. I would definitely recommend it if you like creating things."

Justin and Ben Maeers reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"We attended the two day course. It started with a sensible amount of health and safety, and then we were straight into forging! We learnt how to heat metal to an appropriate temperature, and then how to use a hand hammer before moving swiftly on to using the power hammers. Nigel demonstrated how to perform each step of the basics of forging, and then left us to get on and try ourselves. we improved rapidly, from a very unsure start to feeling more confident and actually producing some satisfying results. Day one, we made pokers with fancy twists and decoration a shovel and a bottle opener, all forged from mild steel bar. Day 2, Nigel asked what we would like to do, and Ben opted for making Damascus steel, which he made from scrap hack saw blades and banding, all stacked up than fire welded together. the resulting things he made from it (several spoons and a knife) are truly beautiful. I made a steel 'Amonite' which i then forged into two white hot steel blocks, then melted it in the forge to make a steel 'Amonite Fossil' We stayed in one of Nigel's caravans, had an open fire outside... a great couple of days. Thanks Nigel!"

Trudy Surman-Roper reviewed: Fisherton Mill in Salisbury - Claire Demetri Glass Fusing Workshops

"Claire is a great teacher who explains and demonstrates but allows each person to enjoy and experiment with the glass. I have been on several workshops and have made some lovely pieces. Some I have given as presents and some have been given pride of place in my sitting room. If you want an activity where you can totally immerse yourself in and de stress this is the one for you. Plus good value for money."
