A lovely day with excellent tuition. I'm no longer overwhelming with my camera options and I now have a much better idea where I'm going with my photography. Such good value for money and Richard certainly delivers his offer of free post course support. Thoroughly recommended.

I worked with Richard on a number of film and video productions as a cameraman (to his director), mainly in the 1980 and 1990s. Having also worked briefly with other film directors like Roland Joffe, Mike Radford and a number of TV directors, I can honestly say that being with Richard was more inspiring and enjoyable than any of the others, and I learnt more about the very craft I was practicing from him than I had thought possible. I actually turned down a potential opportunity to study cinematography at the National Film School partly because I was already regularly working with Richard on some broadcast project or other and didn't want to lose those contracts. There's never any fuss with Richard; his quiet professionalism, his knowledge of photography and his skill at converting ideas into images are second to none, and I wish I had a fraction of his people skills! This may not be a review of his photography course (which I have just chanced upon), but if it helps anyone decide to try his course, I can only vouch for his long-term influence for the better on my work as a cameraman.

A relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable course. The Thames side location was perfect with really interesting subjects and viewpoints, which I would never have considered on my own. Richard was very supportive and encouraging, with endless advice and practical demonstrations as we went along. He has a real knowledge of the technical and artistic sides of photography and a passion to encouraging free thinking and having an individualistic style. A highly recommended course .

I had a wonderful day and came away inspired and excited about my upcoming trip to Kenya. I learnt such a lot about my new camera and some great techniques to try. Richard understood what I needed and never tired of answering my endless questions. An all-round excellent course.

I chose this photo course as it offered totally one-to-one tuition, whereas previously the group workshops I'd tried were disappointing. I really enjoyed Richard's course and definitely learned so much more. I loved the creative ideas and I can now actually feel myself looking at potential shots in a different way now.

I had a brilliantly rewarding day on my one-to-one photography course with Richard. It ticked every box - I wish I'd done it sooner.

Fantastic course. So good to be able to relax and get creative. Richard was very supportive and encouraging and it was definitely something I needed to improve my picture taking. Would highly recommend it to anyone floundering with their photography.

This has to got to be the best money I've spent on photography. The one to one tuition was spot on and Richard's guidance was clear and understanding. Basically I was thrilled with the whole thing.
Not only is it affordable as a treat, it's also a must if, like me, you want to leap forward in your photography.

I had a wonderful day with Richard. Did not know what to expect but it was a lot more than I could possibly expect. He is patient, helpful and completely at ease with people like me who are impatient and forgetful. He covered all the basics and with his font of knowledge covered every aspect of my queries about the technical usage of the camera.
His attitude is comfortable and had an answer for my shortcomings, which was wonderful.
I recommend Richard to anyone who is serious about improving any angle to their photography.
He insisted on helping me even after the course, through email and supporting me in consolidating what he had told me. That shows you what a wonderful tutor he is.
It was an excellent value for money and as I said I recommend him to any one in need of improvement.

Exceptional value, whether its creativity, technical or just getting better organised, all tuition was given to help make better, more professional pictures.

Very enjoyable, I walked away from the course feeling fully prepared and energised to apply all the advice given. I was very impressed by Richard, not only about the techniques, but also the tools and how best to use them. I particularly liked his flexibility in getting his message over, we were a mixed ability group and he quickly noticed those needing things explained in a different way to ensure the message had go through to everyone. A great course from a very knowledgeable and pleasant man. Fully recommended!

Brilliant course. I did it with a friend and there was just the two of us in the workshop which was perfect. I am an absolute beginner and my friend is already quite proficient, but Richard passed on plenty of tips for both of us and got us taking really decent photos of City landmarks. Would definitely recommend to anyone wishing to improve their skills and feel more confident about photography. Richard was very patient, knowledgeable, fun and great at instilling confidence. Beautiful locations too. Overall just a great experience.
