Course Start Dates
Course dates are flexible; please get in touch for the next available date.

Description:

Chalk paint workshops will be run by Sue, who previously ran her own shop Squires Exquisites, where she upcycled and hand painted pre loved furniture. She is now concentrating on workshops, on line selling and commissions. You will have a relaxed, fun and informative day, where you can try your hand at shabby chic furniture painting. This course is suitable for students who would like to have a go at furniture painting but would prefer support, guidance and encouragement with like minded people. You will learn new skills including painting techniques, stencilling, waxing and distressing . Bring in a small item of furniture to revamp please.

Courses will run on flexible dates but must include at least three students, so if you are attending on your own you may have to wait until I have more bookings. This will be a small workshop with up to 5 people so lots of personal tuition will be given. For a group booking of 4 people there will be a £5 reduction for each person and on a date that is convenient for everyone.
Please note that although I use Annie Sloan paint on my furniture , I do not use it on my workshops.

What's included in the price?

Included in the price are all the materials you will need on the day to carry out your project. These are a choice of 6 paint colours, a choice of different sized brushes, clear and dark wax, stencils and aprons. You will be required to bring your piece to be painted and wear suitable clothing please. Also a cover for the car is a good idea in case paint is not completely dry. A welcome drink and biscuits are offered on arrival, a bottle of water each is also provided. Sorry lunch is not included but there is a small cafe on site for drinks and snacks. There is also a shop close by. Approximately 45 minutes are taken for lunch, giving some time for paint to dry. Please pay by cash or cheque only. Please contact to discuss further or book your place. Thank you, I look forward to seeing you.

Sue is very inspiring - sitting surrounded by pieces Sue has produced shows students what can be done. Can't wait to start on a project.

Good parking, lovely cafe for drinks and lunch.

Would love to go back.

Fabulous day in the 'office'. Sue is a fantastic teacher, full of patience and encouragement, and takes the mystery out of painting, distressing and decoupaging home furnishings with chalk paints.

Very well organised and well facilitated, the course ran to time without feeling rushed or under any pressure. The cafe next door serves amazing food. Good parking and facilities on site.

I can thoroughly recommend this beginner's workshop. I have achieved a beautiful piece of furniture that I am very proud of which will take pride of place in my house.

This is all thanks to Sue and her skills, not only as an 'upcycler' but also as a fabulous instructor. I highly recommend this course
