Ken Bromage reviewed: Green wood tables workshop at Lambside Farm - Week 1 (6 Days)

"This was the second course I have attended and both have been excellent. As a complete novice at green wood furniture making I confess to being apprehensive, my fears were unfounded and I cannot recommend Peter as a tutor and mentor highly enough. All round a great experience in an ideal location and enormous fun, the learning packed into the courses is enormous and leaves you wanting to try experimenting on your own. I constructed the Patio Table and my son the nest of tables. Make sure you take lunch the nearest shop is 5 miles away!"

Charlotte reviewed: Rag Rug Half Day Workshop - Hertfordshire

"I can't think of a better way I could have spent that grey, rainy Saturday morning - Elspeth has a great passion for this craft and clearly knows her stuff, she was very generous with her knowledge, tips and advice and also tea, coffee and biscuits! I thought the course was very good value as all materials were included and you could take enough home with you to finish your chosen project. If you think rag rugging could be your thing, this is the best place to start."

Ginny Kirsch reviewed: Introduction to Leather Craft

"Bill is not only deeply knowledgeable (there must only be a handful of leather craftsmen in the UK with his depth of knowledge) but also a brilliant teacher. He can literally make anything from leather to the highest standard and is great at communicating / demonstrating processes. I don't think that you could find a better instructor if this is your field of interest. The course was interesting and fun, no going through notes. Bill teaches on an ad hoc basis in order to keep relevant to individual interest. I will be back to try to try and absorb more of his skill - sadly I acknowledge it would take years to learn his level of craftmanship, this coming from a fellow ex-Cordwainer! How I would love to learn everything he knows!!"

"As a novice craft worker I was slightly apprehensive about tackling rag rug making. But the moment I was welcomed by Elizabeth and the other students into her lovely home my fears disappeared . The 2.5 hours flew by with precise teaching and gentle guidance , lots of cups of tea and biscuits and good company. We were given a great range of options ,materials and ideas and so began our journey! A wonderful start to a new hobby ."

Carole reviewed: Stained Glass Nuno Felted Scarves Online Class

"Having just started to learn needle felting, I was looking forward to this course. I was not disappointed. Lena is a lovely, friendly person with an extraordinary talent. Her passion was clear as she shared her knowledge with us. Being a small group meant she was able to spend time helping us all individually. I thoroughly enjoyed my day with lovely people and managed to produce something that I would be proud to hang on my wall. Already booked up for the next one!"

"It is a while back I did this course but it's the most memorable course I have ever done. I never worked with wool before and now I am addict working with wool. I was amazed what a beautiful flower I made in just a few hours. Lena is very patient, explaining how to use the wool. She is a fantastic teacher knowing exactly what she is doing and helping everybody when they need help. I highly recommend this course."

Cathy McCall reviewed: Rag Rug Half Day Workshop - Hertfordshire

"Myself and a friend attended the beginners workshop on November 14th. We learnt how to deconstruct clothes to make the right sort of strips for ragging, how to select and prepare different grades of hessian backing, and then tried out two sorts of ragging - the looped kind and the shaggy kind. After that we had a bit of a practice and then had the run of wonderful boxes filled with all sorts of coloured materials to begin to create our own project. The hardest part was trying to decide what to make from a cushion cover, a Christmas wreath, a pot stand or a letter of the alphabet. We were supplied generously with various teas or coffee and biscuits whilst we worked and the atmosphere with a small group was really lovely. The two and a half hours just zipped past and we all left with the materials and knowledge to complete the work at home. Elspeth was a very enthusiastic teacher, very approachable and her home is a lovely place to spend a morning doing crafts. Thank you so much!"

Heather McWilliam reviewed: Stained Glass Nuno Felted Scarves Online Class

"I came along to Lena's course with absolutely no knowledge of felt making and left with something I am proud to have made. Lena is a great teacher, very passionate, patient and with lots of creative ideas. It was great to meet the other participants and watch them creating their own special works of art."

Gerardo Gozzi & Gaetano Nenna reviewed: Wood turning tuition, New Forest, Hampshire (1 day) (2 people)

"We can't but recommend Graham's course wholeheartedly! Since we have first contacted him he has been researching on what we needed for our peculiar purpose: making parts of musical instruments. Graham shaped the course in order to cover the principal skills and focus thereafter on all the steps required to achieve our goal. He has been friendly and dedicated for all the course's long day, explaining everything with clarity and patience, and making it a very enjoyable experience. We definitely left his workshop with a clearer idea of what woodturning is and with a lot of enthusiasm in starting working on our products. Is also very important all the assistance via email, before and after the course, that he offer for any doubt you might have or advice you'd need. Last but not least, he welcomed us with all the comforts: coffee, tea and an amazing lunch prepared by his lovely wife (highly appreciated even by two Italians!!!). Thanks you Graham for all your help and the wonderful experience. We are looking forward to seeing you again, to complete our training and become.... Jedi masters!"

Julie Langham reviewed: Beginner's spinning

"Just had a day of beginner's spinning with Cathy and Jean at Knit Wise and it was wonderful! I was given the workshop as a gift - must be one of the best ever birthday presents. At the start of the session I couldn't quite believe I would be able to produce anything useable, but with patient help from both Cathy and Jean, I left with 4 skeins of beautiful yarn that I intend to dye, then knit. All that, with homemade flapjack as a bonus!"

Jeremy reviewed: Green wood chair making - 6 day woodworking course in Devon

"This was an excellent course. I have worked with wood for many years, but never with green wood, I think I am probably now hooked. Peter's teaching was very clear, he was always on hand to help, and every single member of the course left there with a beautifully constructed chair. I very much hope to attend another of his courses one day."

John and Fiona May reviewed: Blacksmithing for beginners - one day taster

"Wow! What a day. Who wouldn't love the chance to spend a day shoving lengths of metal into a forge and then hammering seven shades of shale of it. A day full of hammers, metal, fire, and big tools might sound like something only men might like but we both thoroughly enjoyed it (I originally bought it as a Christmas present for Fiona) and came away with artefacts we proudly show off to anybody who is interested, or not. Day is made perfect by Aaron, a true craftsman, great teacher and homespun philosopher. Having bored people at work with an account of my day and showing them my artefacts, loads of them now want to do it."

Karen Grindrod reviewed: Basic to advanced knitting workshops in Leeds City Centre

"Ann is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher, and the stitches taught by my mum, 40 years ago, slowly came flooding back. I throughly enjoyed it and it was amazing how relaxed and transfixed by knitting I became in such a short period of time. We spend far too much time in front of PCs, phones, iPads ....so this is a great way to spend your time. The vintage tearoooms are just worth a visit for food and drink at any time. And the Grand Arcade with its different shops is also worth a visit. I imagine I'll be madly knitting small Christmas gifts for friends to practise, but will be back for further informal 1-1 tuition, as its really worth the money and it supports a good cause. Knitting is a dying art, so if you feel so inclined, pick it up again or try it for the first time,"

Pete White reviewed: All inclusive artisan baking weekend in Devon

"I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in developing their bread making skills. From the moment I arrived I was made welcome, and it wasn't long before we got baking...starting with delicious pizzas and baguettes and as the weekend progressed, we made lots of different artisan breads as well as making brioche and focaccia. But the course offers so much more than a sack load of bread to take home. I learned many tips and techniques that have transformed my bread making. The course itself is very well paced and allows time to relax and enjoy the location and Penny and Dragan's wonderful hospitality."

Sam Lord- Life After Stroke Coordinator with Stroke Association reviewed: Sgraffito Printed Fused Glass (1.30pm)

"Earlier this year Chrissy ran a mosaic group together with Stroke Association in Blackpool. Chrissy was extremely flexible and reliable and her genuine passion for her art ensured that the group was a huge success. Two large mosaic murals which were made by the group are now decorating the walls of the stoke unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. The murals have received many positive comments from staff and patients. Looking forward to working with Chrissy again later this month :)"

Russell Shaw reviewed: Plaster mould making for slip cast ceramics with Ed Bentley

"I spent 3 days with Ed and it was a fabulous experience. I came from Australia to spend some time with Ed and he made me feel relaxed and confident. He was able to take my design for a vase and show me how to convert my original idea into a design that was both visually pleasing and practical. He was very welcoming and explained each step of the way through the project with humour and generosity and he was patient and a joy to be with. I found it was very easy being in his company, and he can make great coffee! I now feel that I have gained great insight into what is possible with mould making and Ed has given me confidence, and a framework with which to tackle projects on my own. Thank you Ed"
