Steve reviewed: Wood turning courses

"Today has been an amazing day with great tuition from George and great hospitality. George and Susan are very welcoming and warming. The tuition provided has been relaxed and very informative with a good direction in woodturning basics in view to making a very splendid bowl that looks professionally made. To be able to go from novice, to being able to turn a bowl within a day shows the quality and professionalism of George's teaching. I look forward to booking further lessons so that I can progress my skills in bowl turning and other future project ideas."

Richard Taylor reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"As a college technician, I had some basic experience of woodturning, but wanted to develop my skills much further both for my job and personal interest. Mark's great attention to detail, experience and organised way of running the day meant that we covered a lot of ground over the course of the day. Gaining knowledge of sharpening and maintaining tools was really valuable to me, something I knew little about before. I feel that I am not just a safer wood turner knowing the right way to use the tools, but also have a wider horizon on where myself and the students I help can take woodturning and the potential it offers looking at the sort of work Mark creates. I would recommend Mark's tuition to anyone, but if you work in education, I would say this level of detailed excellent training is vital particularly from a safety perspective."

Richard Morgan reviewed: Beginners 10 week woodworking course NO LONGER RUNNING

"I’ve just completed the 10 week beginners course. I was really impressed with Ciaran’s knowledge, he is a great teacher and a true craftsman. There is a really friendly, easy going atmosphere in the work shop. With only 5 people on the course, Ciaran is able to spend plenty of time with each person if needed. I’d highly recommend the beginners course to anyone who is interested in taking up wood working. Ciaran will show you the basics and give you the confidence to create your own pieces. I’m enrolled on the next wood turning course and will definitely be booking onto the intermediate course in the near future. Thank you Ciaran."

"I have just been on the one day beginners glass fusing course. What a fantastic way to spend the day - learning new skills, chatting and eating homemade cake, what could be better. Gary Berntsen reviewed: A fabulous introduction to fused glass - one day course

"What a fantastic day. This was my second course with Siobhan and yet again she was full of support and knowledge of her craft. It's a day where I simply switch off from the normal day to day stuff and get the chance to relax and express myself in my own way. The courses, facilities and the buffet lunch are all top notch and brilliant value for money. Then there is Siobhans wicked since of humour which completes a perfect day. Thank you for another great day and I will be back !!"

Liz Strong reviewed: Introduction to Glass Fusing with Enamels - Full Day Workshop

"This really was a great day!, Steve was welcoming from the start and encouraging without being prescriptive. He is passionate about his craft and his enthusiasm is infectious, his approach was relaxed and made everyone in the group feel valued. The group size was small enough to allow plenty of individual attention and everyone came out with surprisingly good results."

Danny Barbour reviewed: One inspiring day of mono printing from nature in artists studio near York

"A well run and informative day which was exactly what I was looking for. The small number of participants meant that there was plenty of time for hands-on experience as well as one-to-one tuition with Emily. The studio was well organised with individual work-stations for the participants. All in all a day well spent."

Ann Lings reviewed: Stained Glass Nuno Felted Scarves Online Class

"Such a super day. Thank you Lena for sharing your knowledge and passion with us. I had a wonderful afternoon making a felted picture. Lena was so helpful and encouraging despite my ambitious ideas! In fact, Lena had to be extremely patient with several of us that day due to our idea So! I came away with a lovely item ready to embellish. The studio is perfect, so light and well equipped. Ali Millard reviewed: Capturing pretty Flat Lay photos - perfect for Instagram and Product Photography

"I did this course in May and I absolutely loved it. Lyndsey is such a patient teacher and no question was too stupid to ask. Lyndsey supplied lots of props, but we could also take our own too, which were shared amongst the group. Everyone who attended, created wonderful photos which I have since seen on their social media feeds and they look so professional. It really was a great day and I would highly recommend it to any creative person...in fact, I enjoyed it so much, I plan to do it again in the future!"

Ken M. reviewed: Private contemporary encaustic wax workshop with Lyn

"I took part in one of Lyn's encaustic art workshops more than 8 weeks ago and fell in love with using wax as an art medium. Lyn teaches in a patient and encouraging way and makes every session interesting and enjoyable. Encaustic art is a new technique for me. It is relatively simple yet every session has been different in an inspiring way. I highly recommend Lyn's workshops and shall be continuing to attend them, as well as carrying on my new found passion at home. Many Thanks to Lyn and to the Purbeck Workshop for hosting them."

Amy Gurski reviewed: Fabulous felt picture 2 day masterclass near York

"I had so much fun on this course and would highly recommend it to anyone! The location is gorgeous and serene, perfect for the activity. Camped nearby and made a weekend of it and the camping and pub were also great. I had a small amount of experience doing wet felting and felt pictures before but didn't fully appreciate until this course how much goes into creating this art. Calling it a Masterclass is definitely appropriate! Not only do you make your own beautiful piece over the weekend, but Bridget is so generous sharing her knowledge and techniques that I'm confident anyone - brand new or experienced - would learn a lot."

Geraldine Harris reviewed: Kate Morrell willow sculpture courses

"I had a brilliant day working with Kate making my willow donkey (Derek), the day was very relaxed and in a lovely setting. Kate is an incredibly talented artist , with a calm and supportive approach ,so I was able to understand the concept of proportion and depth ( not just a wonky donkey with stick legs!), it was probably a big expectation for a one day course on my part, but Kate talked me through the finishing touches and gave me the materials to carry on. A lovely lunch, tea, coffee and cakes were also provided throughout the day, thank you Dave. I would recommend anybody who's interested in willow weaving sculptures to enrol on the course and a big thank you to Kate for all your input and for being able to share the day with your wonderful animals."

Sam Howell reviewed: Beginners 10 week woodworking course NO LONGER RUNNING

"This course has provided me with the core skills necessary to take on new challenges and larger projects. Before the course my skill level and knowledge was fairly basic. A simple box was the extent of my capabilities. I now feel confident to tackle larger pieces of furniture. I have also been taught that only a few tools are necessary to complete a job, how not to waste wood and how to go about planning a project from start to finish in the right way and dealing with problems that may arise. This is an excellent all round course. Ciaran is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and has taught me a lot. Would recommend this to anyone. I hope to progress onto his intermediate course."

Jacqui Jennings reviewed: Fine Nuno Felted Scarf with 3D Embellishment Online Class

"I am a quilter and sewer, so I have to find another outlet to get me to relax, and this is it. Felting is a whole new entity to me, and something I do for myself, it's my "me" time. It is quietly creative, and full of surprises. Lena is an excellent teacher, and the classes are brilliant, she is very intuitive as well as skilled in her craft.....I just love the classes. I cannot recommend these felting classes more highly, and that's also as one who treats her own skills as professional also."

It was really informative and Catherine went through everything that you do need to know and we had the opportunity to look at all the different types of ingredients and scents. "Lena is a superb teacher of wet felting. Her classes are informal, relaxed and happy. Her knowledge of felting is outstanding and she is happy to share her skills with her pupils. As she teaches in stages, no one is left behind and as a skillful teacher she gives both group and individual attention throughout her workshops. An extremely enjoyable day."
