Yvonne Kerry reviewed: Weekend upholstery courses - Oxfordshire & Berkshire Borders

"This was an absolutely brilliant course! I had a wonderful 2 days. I had chosen to upholster a little round-seated bedroom chair which apparently is quite ambitious for a first go! Philip's relaxed and easy style makes you feel that you can achieve, even as a beginner and I got a good way into my project. Philip will nurture, encourage and suggest, so you never feel that you have got anything wrong. I enjoyed the weekend so much I am booking again to finish the chair and to start on another project. Even though not every moment of the 2 days was spent on my own project, watching and learning from the other students' projects and Philip's own experience and explanations was incredibly useful and will stand me in good stead for projects I may tackle on my own. Philip was very good at managing his time evenly between the class (9 people) so that we could all progress. My group was all ladies so don't be intimidated if you are thinking it's a male-dominated thing! The venue was very good. Everyone has plenty of room to work, even on larger pieces and all the tools you need are provided. My project involved some sewing so I took along my own machine. I certainly learnt a lot and I'm really looking forward to the next course!"

"My son bought me the 1 day painting class as a present, I enjoyed the day so much I booked the 4 day course straight away. I am totally hooked and hope to continue to produce my own work and all thanks to Jamal he is a fantastic teacher. Jamal is patient, encouraging and extremely knowledgeable he has given me the confidence to use the skills he has taught me to make pieces by myself. I cannot recommend this course highly enough."

Anne Johnston reviewed: Marvellous Mosaic one day workshop

"What a lovely absorbing way to spend a day. Lyndsey is clearly very experienced in her craft and her work is inspiring. I had plenty of time to attempt and complete several coasters and Lyndsey's guidance and tutoring made sure that we could all make the most of the day, the time and the very varied materials. There were only 3 of us and it meant that we had as much attention as we needed as well as time to be inspired. I hadn't tried mosaics before but am delighted with what I managed to achieve and would love to have another go. Thank you Lyndsey for a very relaxed, enjoyable and productive day."

Lindsey Kennedy Portfolio responded:

"Thank you Ann for the generous and positive review. I’m so glad that you enjoyed your day experimenting with Mosaics. Do send me photos of your next mosaic projects, it was lovely meeting you!"

Rob Eagle reviewed: Make a Welsh stick chair

"Amazing!!! Such a fantastic course, I have never done anything like it, a truly wholesome experience! From start to finish I loved every minute. Learning new skills, working with wood, handling new tools, being outdoors, couldn’t really have asked for more. Ben is great, really welcoming, very patient and keeps the course running at a good pace, ensuring everyone is getting to grips with the tools and processes. The location is perfect and Ben does a pretty mean soup too! To be able to take away a beautiful chair that I already treasure will be a lasting reminder of a week well spent! I’ll be back! Thank you Ben"

"Emily prepares well for her students. She asks beforehand if there is a particular area that students would like to work on. Generous supplies of materials are available. Emily is patient! She gives advice and encouragement gently and explains the processes along the way. Enjoyment, experimenting and fun are encouraged. One day is good but two days even better! Thank you Emily"

Fiona Walters reviewed: Leather Crossbody/Messenger or Tote bag

"The cross body bag making course was fantastic. Richard was generous with both his time and knowledge. He is such a patient and calm teacher with the ability to coax the best out of you. His style is relaxed but the amount of information and technique that he shares throughout the day is tremendous. Be prepared to concentrate and by the end of the day he will make sure that you will have produced something to be proud of that is truly unique and beautiful. I 100% recommend this course with Richard."

Sean Kirby reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"WOW! What a day. Having never turned a piece of wood before and looking for a new hobby I was bought a days course with Mark. From the start Mark was vey patient and informative. Explaining about Lathes, tools and techniques. At each stage going to the lathe to practice the tool and technique. By lunchtime having tested Marks patience ( he is very patient) i felt confident enough to try a bigger challenge. The Bowl. The afternoon was spent putting all the mornings practice into creating a bowl. It was amazing seeing this block of Oak taking shape. It took a while but the result was well worth it. I have been on other course doing different stuff and you get the feeling that some teachers are happy for you to make somthing and say "not bad for a first attempt". Not in Mark's case. Whatever you make Mark wants it to be right, and i felt the time spent getting the bowl right was so worth it. The after course email is brilliant giving you lots of recommendations on what to buy and where to get the beat deals. Thankyou Mark"

Debs reviewed: Creating shadows and light in your collagraph prints, course in artists studio near York

"I highly recommend this course! Emily's approach is relaxed and combines just the right amount of information and guidance whilst letting us go with out own flow. We were contacted before the course to discuss the themes we were interested in, so the course was really tailored to us. It was a luxury to have 2 days immersed in printing in such a lovely environment - Emily's workshop space and the garden were very conducive to creativity. I was delighted with what I had achieved and came away with a stack of colourful prints and a desire to do more!! Emily really is an excellent tutor!"

Louise Hunt reviewed: Foraged Basket 2 day Course

"This was my first course with Joe, and I’d received it as a present. What a fabulous gift! It turned out to be the first course of many. I am addicted. Joe is a very patient teacher, helping you to creat a unique basket. The course are only small groups so you all revive lots of 1:2:1 guidance throughout the day. Weaving is like therapy; it is so absorbing that you can shut down the stresses in life, just get on with your basket. The courses are excellent value for money."

Creative with Nature Ltd responded:

"thanks Louise: ) xxx"
