Sarah jones reviewed: Willow Chicken / Duck / Pheasant Weaving Workshop

"Excellent! This course is one of the most enjoyable courses I have done in a long time. Victoria ( course leader ) is a lovely lady who instantly put everyone at ease. Her instructions and demonstrations were precise and clear and everybody came away with a willow animal to be proud of. Victoria was also a very good host providing endless cups of tea, coffee and cake. Finally, although the course ran from 10am until 3 pm, there was absolutely no rush to finish and we all ended up staying well past 4pm."

Paul Jones reviewed: 2 day blacksmithing courses

"Just spent the weekend learning to blacksmith with Aaron from Ferric Fusion. The course was bought for me as a birthday present and it was fantastic. Great fun learning to make a rams head fire poker, as well as many hooks and fire tongs. Aaron is a very knowledgable blacksmith and a great teacher of his trade. I would highly recommend this course to those looking to try something new. ? — in Saint Clears, Carmarthenshire, United Kingdom."

Jill Duffy reviewed: Summer art workshops for Adults and Children Monoprinting and Drawing Suffolk

"Lucy was extremely thorough in her explanations of the processes involved with creating mono prints using silk screens. She allowed each course member to work at their own space and develop their work based on their own theme. Her studio is well equipped and Lucy is very organised, making it an enjoyable experience. Great coffee and cake too. I will definitely be booking on more of Lucy's courses."

David Handley reviewed: Woodcarving for beginners - two day course in Suffolk

"I cannot recommend the Woodcarving weekly classes too highly. Gerald is a Master Carver and a great teacher. He also manages to create a wonderful friendly atmosphere in his classes which is a joy to work in. After several years carving away after work or at weekends on my own in my workshop, I am now able to take advantage of retirement and spend time with like minded carvers who want to get better and a bit more creative. I always look forward to my weekly classes and hope to continue to improve my carving skills at Gerald's classes for many terms to come."

Catherine Villegas reviewed: Creative Vibe - Glassblowing Sessions

"My mother and I did this course on the recommendation of a friend. We had a fantastic day. Ricky is knowledgable, patient and fun. We produced some lovely pieces and were thrilled with the results. If you are looking for a "doing present" for someone and are bored with the same old afternoon tea's and spa days, I would thoroughly recommend this one day course."

Shirley Firth reviewed: Copper Foil Technique Stained Glass

"We had a really lovely day with Amanda. She is very friendly and made the day really enjoyable. It was great to try something new and leave with a delightful blue tit. She was patient and a perfectionist so we had all the time needed to take us through each stage of the process. She showed us the variety of glass available and we could choose what we wanted to make from a selection of templates. When we saw the Xmas decorations she is making we have booked another workshop in October to have another go!!"

Traci Whitehead reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"I spent two days with Lucy at her fantastic workshop and learned so much. She is the perfect teacher for taking what you already know (in my case very little) and stretching you just enough that you accomplish far more than you thought you'd ever be able to. I am now going to consolidate my skills and, I hope, book another day or two with her when I know where I want to go with my learning next. I am utterly certain that whereever that is Lucy will be a great person to guide the way."

Jac Tavener reviewed: Two day dry stone walling course for beginners in association with Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain

"Have photographed and admired dry stone walls all my life and appreciated them as a part of our heritage/landscape, however had no idea how they were built. So googled away until I found the DSWA and decided to attend a weekend course. It was fantastic, really lovely instructors, ditto the other attendees. We got stuck in and got to see our wall grow, satisfying, physical and fun. All good."

Sandrine Bonomo-Fox reviewed: 2 Day Silver Jewellery Making Course - Ely

"I had a fantastic time on this 2-day course, which exceeded my expectations! From the moment I arrived, I felt very welcome by Jonathan and his partner, who very kindly provided refreshments and homemade cakes and food during the 2 days. Jonathan is very enthusiastic and clearly communicated his passion for jewellery making. He is a very detailed, in-depth and clear teacher, and takes time to spend some one-to-one time with each person. He is very generous with his time and in sharing his knowledge, and also provides some very useful fact sheets as well as recommendations for tools, materials etc. I was delighted with the pieces I made during the course and got to take home, and they have been admired by friends and family! He has given me the bug and I look forward to taking this new knowledge forward and making silver jewellery. I highly recommend this course, and I personally look forward to taking another course with Jonathan."

Abi bean reviewed: Blacksmithing Beginners day courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"This is an amazing course with excellent host/teachers. I had absolutely no previous experience however, it did not matter in the slightest. All skills are clearly explained and demonstrated and there is continuous support if and when needed. The team are a brilliant laugh and make you feel extremely welcomed! The lunch provided is excellent, the only downside was that I didn't manage to finish the amazing cheesecake! Thank you for a brilliant day!"

Jiao Jiao reviewed: Creative Vibe - Glassblowing Sessions

"An amazing adventure. The two other girls booked on the course didn't turn up, so I ended up having a one-to-one glassblowing course with Ricky. It was really incredible! Ricky was extremely patient, calm and reassuring. He went through each of the steps repeatedly, making sure that you could follow/remember all the steps. Needless to say glassblowing is not as easy as it seems, but after a few tries I did seem to 'blow' better, but it is one of those things which you need to have a lot of patience with yourself. Ricky was always there to help if you couldn't 'blow' as much as you wished. I ended up making 4 pieces at the end of the day, a paperweight, a bowl, a sculpture and a vase. Ricky offered you a range of colours and pieces you could make, and I exchanged some wonderful ideas with him. I definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants to try glassblowing. Once you start you'd be amazed how much you can do, and when the colours swirl in the glory hole it's truly amazing. You can make so many presents as well as things for yourself. You can also bring a friend (or two) with you and have a wonderful day with them. Do bring your own lunch though, as I didn't know you had to bring mine. It does get very hot, so it's good to wear a thin long sleeved tee-shirt, as your arms are more protected from the heat that way. Also wear comfortable shoes, as you'll be standing a lot during the day."

Edna reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"I've had another riveting day learning new techniques from Lucy. Whilst I have not been able to bring my work home. I know this is because I have another session to look forward to. What I love is my project is evolving and being adapted so it means I will have learned so much more than the original plan of practicing enamelling. To me it's my little masterpiece which I could never have done with out Lucy's insight knowledge and skills. I can't wait for the next episode"

Gillian Bertram reviewed: Two day stone carving course at Chillington Hall

"Knowledge and experience is something one acquires, to pass that knowledge onto other requires a good teacher and Miranda is one of the best. We are a class of mixed abilities all working at our own pace, should a chip too far remove a vital piece Miranda is quickly at your side with reassuring words to put you back on track. With her support, always encouraging you to make the final decision, you will produce a carving to be proud of."

"I attended this workshop with my 12 year old grandson. Adela is an excellent tutor, very knowledgable and inspiring. Rebecca Gray reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"Had a lovely morning at Kerry's candle making workshop. Very informative course. I was amazed how much thought and science goes into the art of candle making! Fab friendly atmosphere in Kerry's beautiful home. We had delicious scones and jam with tea which was also a delight. Can't wait for my next week. The only disappointment (in a very tongue in cheek way!) is having to wait a week before burning my delicious smelling candle! I would recommend this course to anyone and will definitely be doing so!"

Ken Taylor reviewed: Blacksmithing one-to-one North West UK

"Spent the day with Bob learning the art of moving and shaping hot metal. It takes a lot more skill and thought than I ever would have guessed - a million miles from simply getting it hot and hitting it hard! Bob is a great instructor and the one-to-one tuition was fantastic. Get the Heat right, Hold it right, and Hit it right. This was a birthday gift from my incredible wife and what a brilliant gift it was. Thank you Bob (and thank you Tracy)."

Nicola reviewed: Silver Ring Making - Jewellery Workshop with Yuki Kokai

"I thoroughly enjoyed this course. Yuki is very knowledgeable and creates a lovely calm atmosphere in her studio- she did a great job of matching her teaching to my ways of learning. I met my aims of understanding some basic silver techniques and using new tools, and I really feel ownership of the ring I created. In addition, Parndon Mill is a great place to visit. I thoroughly recommend."

Brian Wakelee reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"Nigel is an excellent instructor and a very talented gentleman! The Forge was great and the tooling that was on hand was nothing short of Amazing. There were obviously the basic tools of the trade (Anvils, Tongs, Hammer, Forges) however Nigel had Some heavy duty tooling that you just have to see to believe! The course was setup to lead you through the basic forging techniques and to show you how to progress as you become more comfortable. I am a machinist and welder by trade and have very briefly touched on blacksmithing throughout my career, however nothing that has sparked my interest like this course! I was only available to attend one day of the course, however if I could have spent a week at the forge I would happily have done so! Again, if you are even remotely interested (and by reading this review, I suspect that you are) Don't wait any longer! Get signed up and get into the ancient, magical, and mystical world of blacksmithing! You wont regret it! V/R Brian Wakelee"
