Everything explained and taught so well, that I came away with my own beautiful suncatcher and has encouraged me to carry on learning more. Will highly recommend to all with an interest in stained glass or to just learn something new and creative. Thank you, Emma."

Paul Harlington reviewed: Sword making course

"The sword making course with Andy was excellent and worth every penny. I had 121 instruction over the 3 days in Jan 2022 and loved every minute. You do need to be realistic with your expectations in that (a) you will only have time to make a “basic“ sword - no fancy samurai swords or exact replicas, and (b) it will not be prefect - this is the first sword you will make and it is a learning process. However you will be given all you need to produce a pretty decent sword - how you execute it and listen to instruction is key. Be prepared to have a sore arm/hand after the first day of forging, and to get grinder blind on the second day, but day by day you will see the sword take place, even getting your own quench moment at the end of the second day, before fit and finish on the third day. You won’t have a cutting edge on the sword for insurance purposes, but it will be close enough that you can sharpen it after. If you are looking for a “Forged in Fire” type experience then I can’t recommend this highly enough. If you are not sure about your abilities maybe try the shorter knife course before embarking on the sword course - you’ll get to make both then."

Roger Anthony Dowding reviewed: Morning One to One Photography Workshop for Beginners no longer available

"Helen was an excellent teacher. She was very patient and explained things very clearly. It was very enjoyable Although the photography course was outside at Delapre Abbey, she still wore a face mask as social distancing was not appropriate at times. Helen also did a lateral flow test before arriving also, therefore protecting her and myself. I did the same. Thank you The camera is now no longer on automatic - thanks to Helen Helen also went sent the extra mile and forwarded to me some course notes on the use of my camera as my memory is not brilliant. All in all a very enjoyable morning taking lots of photographs. Worth every penny. Thank you"

Helen Tisbury Photography responded:

"Thank you for your kind review Roger, I am so pleased that you enjoyed the course. I am delighted to hear, that your camera is no longer on auto mode. I am sure you will have many hours of enjoyment taking photos with your lovely camera."

Linda reviewed: Beginners Pottery Day Course

"Matt Just wanted to express our many grateful thanks to you for our lesson! Wonderful place, great company, highly informative and left feeling so much better about using our wheel! Hope to return soon but going to practise first! Everyone should attend your inspirational class! Paul said the clay was ES? So we can order the same clay! Tea excellent too! What I found useful is that you do not just guide with hand positions but teach where the pressure should be applied from the hands, to get maximum shaping out of the clay. (I hope I have explained that sufficiently.) Few tutors fail to add that point. Even some of the literature guides fail to stress that too! We both cannot wait to get started with throwing."

Dimbleby Ceramics - Studio Pottery Courses responded:

"Hi Linda, Thank you for taking the time to leave a lovely review of your day. I had a great day teaching both of you and lots of fun too. It’s fantastic to hear that you both left feeling much more confident using the wheel and it would be lovely to have you back on the course in the future to extend your skills with more complex forms. The clay we used is LF Earthenware, if you need any more information just drop me an e-mail or give me a call. Best wishes Mathew"

Chris B reviewed: Full day leather craft workshop

"I had a lovely, relaxed day in the workshop learning a range of skills and creating 5 items that I’m really pleased with. Rosanna is a great teacher, the workshop is small but cosy and the steady pace of the day made it rather therapeutic (although I wasn’t exactly ‘relaxed’ when I started on the machine stitching for the first time!). There was great freedom in what to create and how you wanted it to look so everything I created feels personal. I’d highly recommend this or any of the courses Rosanna offers and may we’ll be back myself one day!"

Sarah Markham reviewed: Beginners art kit

"Thank you for the kit. It would have been nice to have some explanation of what each item is, how to use them and to what effect. There are 4 boards at the bottom of the kit, I assume for painting or chalk drawing, but all their corners have been crushed in transport. Maybe they were just there to support the package? I’m sure I’ll have fun experimenting, but I’m feeling a bit disappointed to be honest"

Heddfan From Narberth responded:

"I’m so sorry to read this….. yes, the boards were there to protect the good stuff. Hope they did their job. ?? I never assume that customers are novice or confident in using the different media but had you advised that you needed any sort of guidance I would have been happy to help. Maybe check out some tutorials on YouTube for ideas. There are quite a lot of different techniques you could apply to these materials. Hope this helps. Happy arting."

Richard and Wendy Shires reviewed: A relaxing day of clay making

"We had a very relaxing and productive day with Trisha in her lovely studio. We learnt how to make pinch and coil pots and create vessels from slabs, and produced about 16 pieces between us. The chocolate tiffin with tea and coffee kept us going until a delicious lunch in her cosy kitchen. We are looking forward to returning in order to glaze our efforts. An excellent experience which we couldn’t fault. Highly recommended."
