Susan reviewed: A relaxing day of clay making

"I had a wonderfully relaxing and inspiring day with Trisha. She introduced me to the pinch and coil technique and I loved her 'There is no right or wrong' approach ! The time just flew and I came away feeling pampered and nurtured, how could I not after being cooked homemade soup and cookies?! Trisha is clearly a special lady- sharing her knowledge and experience on so many subjects, not just pottery which only added to the day. I am so looking forward seeing the pieces glazed. I would recommend this experience to anyone."

Jacqueline Baxter reviewed: One day atmospheric landscape oil painting course aboard the narrowboat Peewit with Melanie Max

"A nice day with a professional artist, certainly brought me on in my practice and provoked my thinking on aspects of colour and blending. I would have valued a shorter demo before doing practice , as taking in all aspects of a longer demo, was challenging when it came to putting it in practice."

Melanie Max responded:

"Hi Jacqueline thanks for your feedback. I will consider breaking the demo and steps down into stages."

Evelyn Lee-Barber reviewed: Needle felt landscapes workshop on Orkney, including lunch

"Catherine patiently guided me through each stage. I left with a stunning picture, new techniques and an appetite to keep going. I like that she worked on a version of my picture so you could see her work as well as demonstrate. Catherine is a person you would easily enjoy spending a day with and would make you feel really welcome. I went with a picture in mind having photographed a scene a couple of days before. This is a good idea so you know what you may want to create. However you could simply turn up. Give it a go. I’m hooked!"

Arts a Flutter responded:

"I can honestly say I enjoyed the day just as much as you did. I loved our interesting chat too. Come back when you visit again ."

" Thanks so much Fanny. Hope your stool inspires you on for some tree paintings!"

Eric reviewed: Blacksmithing Introduction courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"This was a well thought through beginners course in blacksmithing skills with cleverly chosen projects to introduce the art and satisfy a diverse audience. The team provide an inclusive, hospitable and very welcoming environment. Their skills as hosts, trainers and blacksmiths are first class and seem effortless, but I suspect this has all been very carefully thought through. It was a great day and very good value. Whether you are planning on developing a new skill to support future projects of your own, or you want a fun day out hitting red hot hot steel, I can whole heartedly recommend this course."

Judith Roe reviewed: The First Cut - lino cutting for beginners & rusty printmakers in Derbyshire

"My friend and I had a marvellous day making linocuts with Liz. As more or less novices the day was pitched perfectly to help us make our first Lino prints. Everything we needed was provided and the studio is ideal with lots of space. Liz was very encouraging and gave interesting hints and tips on how we could develop our ideas. We were amazed that we came home with so many different prints. The day flew by. We’re already looking to get equipped to do more at home and hope to be back for another course sometime."

Sarah Howes reviewed: Japanese Iris Embroidery Panel - UK postage only

"I have recently purchased six of these lovely embroidery panels (all different, not the same one!). It is really nice to be able to choose your own colour palette, rather than being provided with all the colours and it also enables you to use up your stash of embroidery threads. The panels are beautifully produced on lovely material and the little additional extras, like the needle book and threader are an added bonus. They are also packaged nicely and delivered quickly. Would definitely recommend."
