Laura Darby reviewed: 1 day introduction to silver jewellery making

"I bought this course as a Christmas present for my partner, and after opening it he asked if I would want to go along with him. I contacted Jonathan who responded that he couldn’t fit in an extra person on the date I had booked, but that he would open up one of his free weekends to include me as well. I can’t thank him enough for being so flexible and accommodating! We really enjoyed our day with Jonathan. He is a really amazing tutor and we both came away excited to get going with our new hobby! It was relaxed and informal and he is a really entertaining and genuine person, I’m really glad I chose this course. Jonathan took us through how to set up a workshop, different tools we would need and his recommendations for where to buy them and what to spend. Really invaluable advice for beginners! Throughout the day we had an endless supply of tea and coffee - some gorgeous home made ginger nuts (which Jonathan was kind enough to send me the recipe for!), and a really lovely lunch of soup, with some cold cuts of ham and cheeses. Overall we came out with two lovely silver rings, a new hobby to take up, and had a really lovely day together. I cannot recommend this course enough, and will be looking to come back and see Jonathan again in the future!"

"Thoroughly enjoyed this intro to fused glass. Jane was a lovely host, and is keen for you to bring your own ideas and designs to life whilst offering great advice and tips. I made a glass arc to give to my sister and was delighted how professional it looked. I would love to do this workshop again and make something for myself this time! Thank you Jane"

Lisa reviewed: Regular ceramic & glazing tuition and pottery wheel workshops Shetland

"Went for the three-hour course with two other friends. The space is warm, welcoming and Sonje is an excellent tutor. Instructions are easy to follow and you’re pretty much hands on with clay almost straight away. We had a great laugh, and I was amazed at what, as a complete novice, was able to produce. Can’t wait to go again!"

Werxzovart responded:

"Thanks for the nice review Lisa! It was lovely to meet you all and great to hear you enjoyed the workshop. You all did some very impressive pieces especially as you hadn't been on a pottery wheel before! I look forward to seeing the pots when they are fired and thanks again for coming to do the workshop. Sonje"

Alison Whittaker reviewed: Watercolour painting day - Floral & botanical - with artist Laura Andrew

"I attended Laura's watercolour painting day course as a complete beginner. She put myself and all of the rest of the small group of 4 others very at ease, and introduced us slowly to the wonderful world of watercolour. It was a lovely space to enjoy and lots of individual attention was given to all of us. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it to other beginners who want to get an idea of how to get started with watercolour painting."

frank reviewed: One day intensive traditional stained glass for beginners

"I cannot recommend learning to make stained glass with Angela of Herston stained glass strongly enough! I was very anxious about working with glass and the thought of actually making a piece of glass art in one day seemed to me... a complete novice... well to say the least daunting! But with Angela's calm clear and relaxed instructional style and with her depth of experience she guided me through the day to complete a piece of stained glass work that was very satisfying to me and even recognisable to others ...a miracle ! Coupled with the beautiful maritime landscape where she is lucky to live and the very creative atmosphere it was all in all a fantastic and much recommended experience."

Herston Stained Glass responded:

"Thank you for your very positive review. I enjoyed our day together and you made a great stained glass panel. I hope I can encourage you to make some more!"

Rachel Pawsey reviewed: Modern calligraphy (full day workshop) - Hampshire

"The modern calligraphy course I went to was fantastic; Sunita expertly shared her knowledge in a patient and clear way to enable all the attendees to get the most out of the day. I enjoyed the small group tuition as well as the bigger group discussion and appreciated how approachable and willing Sunita was to help us out individually. I came away feeling like I had the skills needed to practice what I had learnt, along with the resources to help me. Thank you for a great day Sunita- I would recommend this course wholeheartedly, in fact I have already to many of my friends!"

Lea reviewed: Absolute beginners silver clay jewellery workshops

"I have just finished a silver clay day with Scarlett & oh my gosh it was a brilliant day, I made the most lovely 3D pendant & it has raised up flowers & leaves & a little bird that I actually made myself. I'm so excited now & I want to make more jewellery with silver clay,I will definitely be coming back to make a silver clay bracelet with Scarlett. The workshop was so relaxed with her & she was so patient with me because I was a little slow at times but she encouraged me the whole time until I was confident enough to finish my jewellery. I did the flower fairies workshop with her last year & I can honestly say these workshops have been some of the most fun things I've ever done.I recommend 100%, if I could give 10 stars I would, & you get a lot for your money."

Scarlets Fairy Folk responded:

"..Wow what a review, I feel very humble by the reviews I am getting and yours is no exception.. I am so happy you enjoyed yourself.. you did very well with your pendant.. I never rush anyone during creating, we all work and learn at different speeds and I respect that.. and you were not slow at all.. Hope to see you again soon Lea.. I think you would do very well on the Silver Clay bracelet workshop.. Sx"
