A three day residential self catering beginner's weaving retreat in the Welsh hills, from Friday 9th - Sunday 11th June Learn fun and easy weaving techniques for complete beginners to handweaving - A small group retreat. Come and give yourself some time to relax. Enjoy a beautiful and peaceful environment in the Welsh hills. Have fun being as creative as you like while learning to weave. Have all the time you need to enjoy your new craft. You are welcome to enjoy the land and practice your weaving outside between lessons. If weather allows we will have a wild weaving session around the campfire. Held up here in these stunning Welsh hills at our little retreat centre, a beautiful space, with peaceful accommodation, and full of creative energy! Friday - Arrive from 2pm and settle into your accommodation, then meet in the studio, or around the campfire for a wild weaving circle. Saturday - Morning session - Learn how to warp a tapestry loom and start your weaving on it, learning fun weaving techniques throughout the day. Evening - Weavealong session with help whenever needed. Sunday - Morning session - Learn how to make wild circular hoop frames and how to warp them, some prep for something exciting to weave when you get home. There are only 3 residential spaces available. Accommodation available is as follows: * The Farm Cottage - 2 - 4 spaces available - (self catering) The cottage has two bedrooms, both have single beds for either one person in each room or for friends sharing a room. There are two bathrooms, one with a bath, and the other has a shower. A large shared full kitchen. And a comfortable shared living room. * Shared cabin - 2 spaces available - (self catering) The cabin is open plan with 3 beds, a sofa, a shared kitchen area with a fridge, sink (running cold water only - kettle for boiling washing up water) a double hotplate stove. The shared bathroom is in little bathroom cabin, with toilet, sink, shower and micro bath, hot and cold water, is outdoors, situated right next to the cabin. * The Fairy Pod - 1 space available - (self catering) The pod is a beautiful outdoor bedroom, with double bed. Shared kitchen space is available in the farm cottage (please see details of kitchen above on the farm cottage) or you can bring a camping stove if you would like to do some outdoor cooking. The shared bathroom is in little bathroom cabin, with toilet, sink, shower and micro bath, hot and cold water, is outdoors, situated nearby.

What's included in the price?

Prices include accommodation for residential guests, activities or classes planned, yarn for weaving, weaving equipment to use during the retreat, bedding and towels for booked accommodation, teas and coffee. *****You will need to bring with you: * Bring along your food for throughout your stay - bring what you would love to eat throughout your stay (there are local supermarkets & shops in nearby towns of Welshpool & Newtown, and a Spar shop in Montgomery) There is a small shared kitchen space in the cabin with hot plate and fridge/freezer, and a large shared kitchen space in the farm cottage with full cooker and fridge/freezer. (you are welcome to share meals together if there are any others staying who would also love to do shared meals together, or you are very welcome to make your own food, please do whatever you feel happiest to do). All shared spaces must be kept clean and tidy after use, for everyone to enjoy a relaxed space together, thank you x * Bring suitable footwear - if you enjoy walks and would love to explore the local countryside. Hopefully the weather will be dry, but incase of rain, bring along a pair of wellies and a raincoat. * Bring along your house slippers - all the indoor spaces are shoe free. At the end of the retreat you will have the opportunity to buy the tapestry loom and the hand crafted weaving needle you have been working with, if you would like to carry on weaving when you get home. I will also open the fiber shop here incase anyone would like anything, there will be handspun yarns, rovings, and wildcrafted tools and craft kits available.

Hi, I'm Lea! I live in the hills in Mid Wales, here at our creative retreat centre, with a holiday cottage, cabin, pod and gypsy caravan for guests to stay in. I teach creative yarn spinning, beginners spinning, drop spindle, wet felting, creative crochet & knitting, recycled textiles, & wild weaving. I teach personal classes and group retreats.
