6 places max in your own work spaces.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
We'll be working with the medium of compressed charcoal, firstly warming up with a playful and relaxing Mindful Dreamscape, creating a sphere from memory (don't worry, I'll show you a pic first), then recreating your own Lawrenny Landscape utilising the breadth of marks and tones discovered in the first part of the session. Alongside the charcoal we'll work with a drawing board, rubber, a rag and our hands to try out the full range of techniques achievable with this lovely medium.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING
The session includes all materials and equipment.
You will need to wear suitable clothing (dark clothing is ideal), bring a hand towel and any refreshments that you require throughout the day (Narberth has takeaway coffee and tea plus plenty of lunch options too).
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
The session includes all materials and equipment, tuition, source material and studio space.

This was my first experience of art classes and I can't wait to go again. Louise does the artwork at the same time as you which is a real help. She gives you space to find your own rhythm with periods of instruction. I had a very warm welcome and she immediately put me at ease. I'm looking forward to starting my second course with her next week. Thank you Louise.
Response from Louise Burdett Artist:It was great to meet you Tina. You were a delight to teach, created some fabulous drawings, and I'm looking forward to seeing you for the life-drawing course this week. Louise x
This is the third course I've taken at Louise's lovely studio - and I may have enjoyed this one most of all! Louise is very action focussed as a teacher, so you start drawing early on in the session, and this means you get three pieces to take home...which is so gratifying. But she doesn't hurry you at all, just motivates and encourages with comments, tips and demonstration. So you're able to totally immerse yourself in your creative process and focus, which is both deeply relaxing and restorative.
Highly recommend Louise's courses and will be back for more.
Response from Louise Burdett Artist:Thank you for your great review Pippa. It was a delight to see you again and I enjoyed working with you. See you again soon I hope. Louise x
This was one cf the first classes I did with Louise and I'm so pleased it was because it gave the confidence to try others, safe in the knowledge that Louise's teaching style would get the best out of me, whatever the medium being used. In this case it was charcoal. Louise leads by example and breaks things down into manageable chunks so I didn't feel overwhelmed and was able to relax into the session and really enjoy seeing what could be achieved with the medium. Such a liberating experience and I ended up with a finished landscape which far exceeded my expectations to such a degree that I still can't believe I did it! But that's all down to Louise's skill as a teacher and the way she makes you feel with her encouraging and knowledgable approach. Spending time in Louise's lovely studio is a real treat!
Response from Louise Burdett Artist:Thank you so much for the fab review Su. A pleasure as always. x
