In-person course

Creative Drawing with Compressed Charcoal in lovely Lawrenny. Suitable for all abilities

A small group workshop (3 max) WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING We'll be working with the medium of compressed charcoal firstly warming up with a playful and relaxing Mindful Dreamscape drawing. We'll then create a sphere focussing on form and expanding our repertoire of tones. Finally, we'll create a Lawrenny Landscape utilising the breadth of marks and tones discovered in the first two parts of the session and get lost in the landscape. Alongside the charcoal, you'll work with a drawing board or the wall, a rubber, rag and your hands to try out the full range of techniques achievable with this lovely medium. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING You will need to wear suitable clothing (dark clothing is ideal), bring a hand towel and any refreshments that you require throughout the day including lunch (we'll stop for a quick half hour break at around 12pm).

The session includes all materials and equipment, tuition, source material and venue.

I am a practising fine artist living and working in Pembrokeshire. I love to paint and draw narrative and use landscape, figurative and abstract techniques to achieve this. My mantra is colour, energy and light and this is what I share with others through a varied range of painting and drawing courses and workshops, an important element of my continuing art practise. As well as fixed workshops & courses I am available for on-demand 1-2-1 and small group sessions so please just get in touch.
