Beginners Level 1 Jewellery-Making Class This five-week, Monday afternoon course will introduce you to the foundation skills of jewellery making and silversmithing, where you will learn the basics of jewellery making in consecutive weekly classes that last three hours. This course caters for the complete novice, completely new to the industry and ready to begin their jewellery journey. In this class, you will learn about the basic material quality of metal and the tools required for jewellery making, as well as being shown how to use them in a safe and proper manner. You’ll be briefed on the techniques that are needed to get you through the beginnings of jewellery making including sawing, shaping & doming, alongside embossing, soldering and chain making. The block is split into two, with the first three weeks spent learning these introductory jewellery techniques, and then for the next three weeks you will be supported in making your own piece of jewellery or small collection! You then have the option to move onto our Mixed Abilities class or even take a specialised class later on in the year!
