Join experienced jeweller/goldsmith Lindsay Forbes, jeweller and founder of Laconic jewellery, as she guides you through this beginners course to make an eco silver spinner ring.
Learn how to measure your finger correctly and cut metal to ensure a ring that fits perfectly!
You’ll learn how to saw, shape and form your ring before soldering.
Once soldered, you’ll be shown how to add textures to your ring using hammering techniques to achieve a contrasting texture.
You’ll then shape and form the ring using specialist forming tools to create your spinner ring.
Learn how to prepare the ring before polishing using a file and emery paper.
Basic polishing techniques will be taught in this course, to show how to achieve a light polish or matt finish of your choosing.
In this course, you will practise using copper wire to experiment with shape and texture and practise soldering skills.
Once you’ve learned the techniques you’ll choose which design you prefer to commit to making in sterling silver.
You can expect to make x1 ring in recycled sterling silver to fidget with when worn!
