Ring Making Workshop, Newcastle upon Tyne
No experience is necessary. Great for beginners and if you want to find out whether silversmithing is for you this is an ideal introduction. Ever wondered how one can make a silver ring? Bringing together two ends of a metal rod is a magical process. During the this workshop you will be able to make a beautiful sterling silver ring by experiencing the traditional silversmithing techniques such as measuring, sawing, texturing, soldering, filing, sanding and polishing. At the end of the workshop you will be able to take your sparkling ring back home. Come with a friend, make a date out of it! This workshop lasts approximately 2.5 hours. ------------------------ Studio COVID-19 Rules Follow the Government’s current COVID-19 guidelines. Do not come to your session if you have COVID-19 symptoms or have a positive COVID-19 test. Register your entry to the studio by scanning COVID-19 Track and Trace QR code when you arrive. Please use provided hand-sanitizer when you enter the studio. Please bring your own mask if you wish / need to wear one. All bookings are COVID SAFE– If the Covid Guidelines changes and won’t allow us to go ahead with the workshop, your booking will be safe until we can return back to workshops. There is no time limit attached to this. Attendee limits: Up to 4 attendees.
What's included in the price?
Sterling silver for the rings are included in the price. You will use all the necessary tools and equipment in the studio to create your ring. With your workshop booking you will also get a 10% Discount Voucher for the Biscuit Factory Kitchen to treat yourself after a successful workshop.

Emine is a designer-maker of contemporary jewellery. She lives in Whitley Bay and works from her studio at the Biscuit Box Studios in Newcastle upon Tyne. Her work often explores amalgamation of materials and techniques to achieve harmonious wearable objects. She combines traditional silversmithing techniques with metal clay techniques. She shares her love of creating jewellery with others in her silver clay workshops within her studio and at six other galleries across North East.
