Imagine learning a new skill in the splendour of an 18th century stately home. Why imagine while you could come and join me for an introductory silver clay class.
This five hour taster session is suitable for beginners You will create your very own unique ring in genuine 99.9% silver (more precious than standard Stirling silver).
The basic design is a star or flower, but other options are available, if preferred. The cost includes a genuine garnet to inset - other glass fireable gems will also be available.
Silver clay is a magical material that enables individuals to create their own gorgeous piece of jewellery without having to use silver smithing techniques. The clay is created using recycled silver particles which are reformed into clay using non-toxic binder and water. Once you have learned the techniques it is so easy to make at home with easy to obtain tools.
You will learn about rolling the clay, texturing, moulding/forming, cutting, assembling, setting a stone, firing and polishing (and if adventurous enough, perhaps a bit of patina). You will find the class to be enjoyable, fun, easy and relaxing.
You will go home with your own brand new shining, genuine silver, gem set ring - so you can wear it immediately, enabling you to amaze your family and friends.
The hall’s coffee hatch is available for additional drinks and refreshments, but you are welcome to bring your own. I also recommend you bring an apron, wear open-toed shoes and bring a hair tie (if you have long hair). If government restrictions dictate, please bring along a face mask.
I am the holder of both stage 1 and 2 Metal Clay Diploma and look forward to passing on my skills to other people wishing to learn something new. Come on, give it a go, and have great fun whilst doing so.
