Silver Clay Jewellery Workshop - Beginner - Live Online - International - 1 Day

Start your silver clay journey in the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you. Live online sessions with Rachel give you all the help and support that you need without having to travel. You will learn how to prepare the clay, fire and polish it. With a wide range of jewellery options there's something for everyone. This lovely process allows you to be creative in an accessible way, so anyone can do it! Use treasures from your life as inspiration (or even to make your moulds) or just allow the process to guide you. This workshop will enable you to feel confident enough in the process to keep making with silver clay afterwards. You will make 4-6 pieces of silver clay in a variety of techniques. All live sessions are delivered in English and will be subject to time zone adjustments and availability. Dates listed are based on UK time. Sessions can be run as 2 x 6 hour sessions of 4 x 3 hour sessions.

What you will need
As this is the international option you will need to supply the following materials and tools yourself. Please message if you want to discuss the list. - silver clay (7-10g) - silver clay syringe or silver clay paste - butane blow torch (a small kitchen one is fine) - fire blanket or other safety equipment - heat mat - goggles - silicon moulding compound - rolling pin - playing cards or thicknessers - wet and dry papers - polishing papers - textures - cutters or stencils - findings - pliers - brush - drill bits / hole cutters - olive oil / non stick medium - method for drying clay (hair dryer, dehydrator, hot plate) - brass / stainless steel brush Optional: - silicon shaping tool - needle tool - agate polishing tool You also need a device with a large enough screen to view the demonstrations, wifi and the ability to play sound.

Where it all began … I first learnt to crochet as a child and spent hours and hours making, sewing, knitting and learning every new technique possible in art, craft and design. After a degree in Graphics and with 16 years experience teaching Textiles, Graphics, Art & Design and Design & Technology I strongly believe in developing my own practice to be the best tutor I can be. I am continually inspired by my students of all ages so it's definitely and 2 way street!
