Silk Screen Printing - Printing onto 10 T-Shirts for merchandise/event

Description

The workshop consists of an initial consultation (via email) to discuss the design for printing. The completed design will be supplied by yourself in advance of the workshop so it can be transferred to acetate to become a viable one colour screen print. The in person part of the course will involve learning how to prepare a silk screen with photographic emulsion, exposing your design to UV light and practicing these skills. A pre-prepared screen will also be ready for you to use and print from. We will practice printing onto rough fabric and then print the actual ten t-shirts using one colour ink (white). Once they have been printed we will learn and practice sealing the print on a pre-prepared garment so they can safely be washed (the actual t-shirts will require time to dry following the workshop). Following the workshop the garments will be left with me to dry and seal and they will need to be collected within two weeks of the workshop date. On collection of the t-shirts each student will be given the silk screen that has been burnt with their design, a squeegee, the ten t-shirts that they have printed and a detailed breakdown of the instructions of the workshop. This means you will be ready to go to produce more prints in the future or attempt your design from scratch. On booking we request that you ask for the sizes, gender and colour of the 10 t-shirts that you would like to print on. Because we use white ink we would recommend that you ask for darker coloured t-shirts such as black, navy, red or orange.
