My daughter in law and I had a most enjoyable and creative day trying our hand at silk painting. Bridget demonstrated the technique clearly and provided advice in a relaxed way that allowed our individual styles to develop. We are both very pleased with our vibrant pieces! A tasty homemade light lunch was an added bonus!
I would definitely recommend a silk painting workshop gift voucher as an alternative present suitable for all ages and abilities!
What a really enjoyable experience and day with a lovely lunch. Bridget has a relaxed method of tutoring and allows you to explore your own styles but is also on hand to advise and guide with extra colours, mixing and techniques or ideas. (I have no artistic ability but managed to produce two pieces of work that actually looked like something!!).
Superb value for money and really highly recommended for all ages and abilities.
I booked this course for a Xmas present for my mother in law & aunt. We had a really great day learning a lot about painting on silk. Bridget was really attentive & taught in an easy way to understand. She was really good at helping you lose your inhibitions & just experiment with design & colour. We will definitely go back. Great coffee, homemade soup & cake. We were made to feel really welcome & comfortable.
I attended this workshop as CPD as I am training to be an art teacher and thought it would be useful. I was guided by Bridget in a calm and patient manor. She was thorough and clear with her instructions, and the practice piece enabled us to see the method of silk painting before we moved on to our final pieces. Although I'm not sure if I will continue to do silk painting, I am glad I had the experience and training. It was a fun day with a delicious lunch! (which she catered well for, with my dietary requirements). I thoroughly recommend this course!
I booked this wonderful workshop for my daughter and myself and we both had a fabulous day. Bridget is a wonderful and patient teacher. She made us fell welcome and at ease, and explained the process through to its intirety.
Worth paying a visit!!!
I booked a workshop with Bridget for a birthday present for my friend and our two children. Really enjoyable day. Bridget guided us through a thorough introduction to silk painting and then helped us work on a group project so that we could "play" with all the techniques and see the effects of using salt, etc. - this was very enjoyable. After a lovely lunch of home-made soup, bread and a yummy slice of cake, we went on to produce our own designs. We were all very pleased with our results. It was great fun using a new medium and it is something I would definitely like to try again.
What an interesting and absorbing way to spend a day. I haven't painted since my teens and was surprised how technical, but easy, silk painting is. Really enjoyed my day and have been back twice to explore this medium. Lovely lunch, relaxed atmosphere, very informative and free to experiment. Excellent.
I had never tried silk painting before but with Bridget's excellent demonstration and support throughout the day I was amazed with the beautiful scarf I produced. I have been again and am now totally hooked. Bridget's lunches are wonderful too!! Have met some really friendly interesting ladies.
Bridget's workshops are a great way of learning about the art of silk painting - Bridge provides expert tuition, bags of inspiration and not forgetting a very tasty home cooked lunch! A day with Bridget is also a very sociable, friendly occasion where you can enjoy experimeting with colour and fabric with like-minded people.
