On this full-day screen printing workshop with Edinburgh-based artist and printer Lou Davis, you will learn how to create a repeat pattern suitable for printing onto fabric.
Although beginner screen-printers are welcome to attend this workshop, it involves a more advanced method of printing, and more advanced equipment, which will perhaps suit those with some previous experience of screen-printing, or who are familiar with the emulsion method.
You'll spend the morning creating patterns and learning how to make them seamlessly repeat across your fabric. Then we’ll take your best pattern and create screen prints using the photo emulsion method. You’ll learn to coat, expose, print and clean silk screens, and then print them onto cotton creating repeating patterns.
You wiil print your final design onto a cushion cover, apron or tea towel ready to take home.
Please note that The Arienas Collective experiences are run from a first-floor space and unfortunately we do not have lift access.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
All equipment and materials provided. Workshop includes refreshments and buffet style lunch.
