Love wool? Then you'll love needle felting!
Fibre artist Carla Taylor of The Mousehole Woolery will guide you step by step through the basic techniques of needle felting as well as share lots of tips and tricks that she has learnt along the way as well as her love and passion for local Dorset and British wool.
By the end of the workshop, you will have created your own woodland squirrel out of beautiful wool ready for you to take home or, if you can part with them, to give to someone as a special gift.
This workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some experience of needle felting and will include how to work around wire to create a bushy tail. The price of the workshop includes all materials and a needle felting kit, that you get to keep, take home and carry on creating with.
A fun, creative and inspiring day with friendly, like-minded people!
Carla Taylor creates contemporary sustainable 3D wool sculptures inspired by the animals and landscape of the British countryside and coastline using the technique of needle felting. Needle felting involves using barbed needles of various sizes to repeatedly stab and sculpt wool fibres together, building layers of wool, transforming the fleece into a felted work of art! Carla likes to work closely with local Dorset farmers promoting the use of local and British wool and will often refer to conservation issues within her sculptures.
Refunds are not available on this booking. Start dates may be amended on request.
The price of the workshop includes all materials and a needle felting kit that you get to keep, take home and carry on creating with. Includes tuition, three-course hot/cold buffet lunch, refreshments.
