Learn to Tie Dye T-shirts and fabric

X

Description

Come along and play with tie dye! In this fun session you'll have the chance to play with colour and resists to learn a range of tie dye techniques from ombre, to pebble resists & twisting with bands. No experience is necessary, and every creation is unique. We'll be dyeing a range of white cotton sample fabric pieces, that you can take home to turn into other projects. And feel free to bring 1-2 t-shirts with you on the day to make a wearable groovy creation. Come along and try something new! Please note that this session will be taking place outside, so you'll need to dress according to the weather (and preferably in old clothes as we're working with dye). Weather can be unpredictable so we'll confirm that everything is going ahead the day before.

What's included in the price?

We will provide a range of tie dye colours and resists, along with white cotton fabric. But please bring along 1-2 white tshirts on the day so you can make a creative top that fits you well (or to give as a gift). You could substitute one of these items for a white cotton pillowcase or cotton tote bag. Whatever you bring should be 100% cotton. Please also bring a pair of rubber washing up gloves if you want to keep the dye off of your hands. ** We are a small charity devoted to getting people into craft. We aim to keep our workshop price as low as possible in order to make it as accessible as we can. We are always taking in donations of fabric and craft supplies, which we put towards future projects. So if you are clearing out your cupboards, please feel free to bring anything to the session that needs a new home. ** Children (10 years & up) are welcome at the session, but they must be accompanied by an adult (with a separate ticket). If you have any disabilities or support needs we will do our best to accommodate you. Please just drop us an email ahead of time to talk it through.
