On this one-day introductory workshop - suitable for beginners or those that have attended our silver jewellery taster workshop and wish to develop their skills - you will create three different pieces of jewellery.
Using silver clay, a material made up of recycled silver particles, an organic binder and water that can easily be used at home with little need for equipment, your expert tutor, Edinburgh-based jeweller Anna Campbell, will take you through all the steps needed to create your own pieces ready for firing. The dried clay is fired with a butane torch to form it into silver (at home a crème brulé torch will also do the job). The resulting pieces are silver of hallmark quality - modern-day alchemy!
The projects you will make during this one-day workshop include a pair of earrings, a stone-set pendant and a moulded charm. You will learn how to make your own silicone mould to use with silver clay so if you have any small charms, shells, buttons and so on you would like to bring along to mould please do! If not, a selection will be provided for you to choose from.
You will learn how to design, make and fire your own pieces and will go home with your lovely, truly hand made and unique creations to give as gifts or to keep for yourself!
You will have access to all the equipment you need, and the price includes all materials, welcome refreshments and a buffet style lunch.
Please note that our workshop space is based on the first floor of a Georgian mews home and unfortunately we do not have lift access.
Refunds are not available on this booking. Start dates may be amended on request.

I thoroughly enjoyed the introduction to ring making. I booked it immediately after doing the shorter course! I found it to be a very relaxing day, in a fabulous venue. I wear my rings every day- and I still can’t quite believe I made them! I’d recommend the courses to everyone.
Response from The Arienas Collective:Hello Beverley
This is the third time I have gone to a silver clay course at The Arienas Collective with Anna Campbell. This time I went with my daughter. We had a lovely day in a relaxed friendly environment with an excellent and patient teacher. We were both very pleased with the rings we made and were surprised at the level we managed to achieve. I would strongly recommend both The Arienas Collective and Anna Campbell.
Response from The Arienas Collective:Hello Denise. Thank you so much for taking time to leave us a review on Craft Courses. We're delighted that you and your daughter enjoyed your silver clay ring making class. And thank you so much for becoming an Arienas silver clay regular! The rings looked fabulous when they left for the kiln, and even better when they were fired and polished! You should be really pleased with yourselves. :-) Hope to welcome you back again soon. Best wishes, Lynn x
Thoroughly enjoyable day. Great tuition in lovely and relaxing surroundings.
I did this with my mum and had an amazing time! I learned a lot, the teacher was experienced but also patient and it was very relaxed and comfortable. I was incredibly pleased with both the rings I made (one for a friend and one for my mum) and so were they!
Response from The Arienas Collective:Hi Asa. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review. We're so glad you enjoyed your ring-making workshop and felt you had learned a lot. You created two very unique and beautiful rings, and it's great to hear that the lucky recipients were happy with them. We hope to welcome you back to The Arienas Collective again. With best wishes, Lynn
