About the Course

Making silver jewellery doesn’t have to be difficult… if you can roll out pastry, use a biscuit cutter or a craft knife you can use metal clay!

* Easy * Social * Fun * Eco-friendly *

** I am currently running classes "to order" rather than setting specific dates. Please get in touch to find out more! **

In this class you’ll have a basic introduction to the material, tools and processes, followed by some time to practice and finalise your design before getting started on “the real thing”. You will then create your piece and it will be fired in a kiln - turning it from a dull grey piece into pure silver!

Don’t worry if you’re “not creative”, I’m here to support you and guide you through the process - I also have books and samples for inspiration too.
Go on, treat yourself (or a loved one) to a unique keepsake made from .999 pure fine silver for less than the cost of a piece of jewellery on the High Street!

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

In this class you can make either a pendant or set of dangly earrings
All class prices include:
* A space on the course for 1 person
* 7g silver clay, materials and use of tools to make your piece
* Firing of your creation in a kiln
* Tea, coffee and sweet treats whilst you work
At the end of the class you’ll take home a piece of unique fine silver jewellery, crafted by your own fair hands!

Your tutor is Steph Pillinger, BA (Hons) Restoration and Decorative Studies - First Class, an internationally selling mixed-media artist, specialising in metal clay, gilding and decorative effects.

This is an exciting method in the history of jewellery making - I call it the “friendly” alternative to traditional silversmithing. Many other skills cross over to metal clay projects (pottery, sugar craft, decoupage etc.) - making it accessible to hobbyists and craftspeople alike… so go on, give it a go!

Want to review this course?

I did this course with a friend on a Sunday morning - Steph had accommodated us perfectly. She was very good at explaining what the process was and how to achieve the best results, and there were lots of examples to get inspiration from. She was very patient and lovely to work with - we were really pleased with our end products: I made a ring and my friend made lovely earrings and 2 pendants for her daughters. Our session took a bit longer than the morning, but at no point did Steph seem in a hurry. She even provided the necklaces to go with the pendants for no extra cost.

All in all we had a great day and would definitely recommend this workshop!
