Freehand Machine Embroidery/Piecing/Quilting Summer Wildflowers with Gillian Abram Pingwynny Textiles

A light and bright Summer's day in a warm flower meadow. The background is pieced batik fabrics with applique flowers and sewn details.

Description

Makes four 6x8 inch scenes. We collage the background before using raw edge applique and stitch to create the wildflowers. Use of free motion quilting would be beneficial although not essential. Use my scenes as inspiration or create your own flower combinations. Please bring your machine and a selection of threads reflecting colours of nature.

"Back again! This time to make a toile. I am making a jacket which I have put off for years after having some doubts about my abilities. Here was the opportunity to really learn a few new things. However, a great deal of time and patience was required of the tutor. I certainly got that in spades. Anyway, I've been guided along and now feel yes, I think this is actually going to work out. I will definitely be back if only to get help with the pockets!"

"A really good positive experience. Working alone has its difficulties when worried about the actual pattern, what sort of interfacing is needed, where to alter the darts, will this material suit the pattern, body shape etc. These queries can be answered here as you go along, so you can correct, alter and complete without throwing the garment in the corner! Plus, lets face it, its nice to have confirmation of 'so I was right then?' Wow! I have booked another course. "
