About the Course
This course is designed for complete beginners, so don’t worry if you’ve never done anything like this before. Using only an axe and knife, we will walk you through the steps to transform a log into a beautiful cooking spoon that you can take home and use in your kitchen or gift to a friend.
Guided by experienced spoon carver Ben Collis, you will learn the confidence to make your own spoon at home. We’ll run through all the necessary safety precautions and some essential techniques which you can then build on with your own practice. we’ll also run through what you tools you need to get set up at home.
All our wood is sustainably sourced from tree surgeons, we simply save the good bits that would otherwise be turned into wood chips. Each course will have 6 participants, so don’t worry if you’re by yourself, come and meet some like-minded people!
Lunch is provided, along with homemade cakes made by Ben’s mum.

A very rewarding day out, Ben is a nice lad, very approachable and extremely proficient. I also came home with a functional spoon, despite never having carved anything before. I'd heartily recommend this as a very affordable de-stressing therapy
