What an excellent class!! Top notch teaching, very organised with everything supplied. Just show up & everything is at your station. I have attended for 3 years now & wish I found this class years ago..... No where else compares to this class. Everyone is friendly & we have lots of laughs & banter. I highly recommend this class, give Rene a call & she will set up a free taster session. Come & see for yourself. Why not? Brenda S

ColourWheel art classes are great fun, I started in January 2019 with the intention of just going to the one. I am now doing this term and will be back again. Rene (host) and Erica (teacher) are both fantastic, doing everything they can to make you welcome and at ease. A variety of mediums are taught and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Fellow students make for humorous and entertaining banter. ColourWheel is my 3 hour sanctuary- no phones etc. I highly recommend it.
Sandra Haines - - #23359
Love these Colourwheel art classes. You learn such a lot, become completely immersed in this new hobby and meet some lovely people all at the same time.
I look forward to Thursday afternoons all week. Whether you're artistic anyway or you just want to take up a new hobby with a professional but very friendly company, I can’t recommend Colourwheel highly enough.
Rene always takes the time to make each lesson 'special' so for example we have fortune cookies when painting Chinese lanterns and a Poldark theme when studying the perspective of a Cornish tin mine!! Erica is our resident artist and is always clear, encouraging and very approachable.
Windsor Racecourse is a lovely venue too!!

Love this course and would recommended it to anyone.
I first went for a taster session last year and thought it was way beyond my ability.
3 terms later and I am addicted.
Rene is always ready with a smile and a great welcome every week and her attention to detail is amazing.
Erica is such a lovely lady showing us her beautiful skills in creating great artwork. She is always ready with advice and compliments which mean a lot .
Best feel good 3 hours of the week

I'm really enjoying the Colour Wheel classes and have improved my skills significantly during the 14 weeks. Before joining the class, if I picked up my brushed, I would work with a subject or medium that I felt comfortable with, however the varied syllabus enables you to try a range of creative techniques to build your skills and confidence. Renee does a fantastic job of organising everything, so all materials and session content are provided and Erica is a brilliant tutor who offers clear direction and also one to one encouragement and guidance. It doesn't matter whether you're a beginner or more accomplished, everyone is made to feel welcome and can learn at their pace. I love finding some some 'me time' in a busy working week with a great group, and I'm signing up for next term I enjoyed it so much.

This was my first term as I retired at the beginning of the year. I was a bit nervous about my first class with colour Wheel but I needn't have been. I have loved it from the start and learnt such a lot in the time I have been there. We have covered a very varied syllabus which gives you an opportunity to try things you would not have otherwise have thought of doing. Everyone is so kind and very helpful and everything is provided for you along with the special touches like the ice lollys on a day that was exceptionally hot and we were drawing a beech schene, to mention a few. I am just about to register for my second course and can't wait for them to start again.
Margaret Gonning - - #16255
A complete beginner in September, I am now completing my 3rd term and looking forward to next September.
Syllabus is varied, as are media used: charcoal, pastels, watercolours and more.
Classes are very well organised by class leader, Rene, with all materials provided/set up on arrival.
Amazing teacher, Erica, gives clear demonstrations, help and lots of encouragement. Lessons are challenging and well structured with 2-3 activities in each.
I now observe more carefully and actually see perspective, colour, tone etc.. An excellent opportunity to see the work of other, more experienced, students in an atmosphere that is sociable, supportive and productive. Thoroughly recommend!

Well I was very nervous when I first started this course as a beginner , some 3 years ago !!!. i am still going 8 terms later. The teachers are first rate .I have learnt o much. Rene runs the class and keeps it going by clockwork. I have met many friend through this course and we meet up socially. It took oe lesson before we all loved learning and laughing at ourselves too. I wish i could put 1st lesson pics up and then show you all what I can do now. !!
Do come along and look ,everyone is so kind .
Alexandra Hawkins - - #16229
I have joined 4 so called art classes in the past but learnt very little. Wish I had known about ColourWheel 3 years ago? I joined this art class 2 years ago with my friend Marilyn. I am being taught so much? I am here to stay!!!
Brenda Stafford - - #16216
This course is just so much fun! Yes, you learn lots and lots of things, different ideas, different techniques, different ways of creating a disaster and then the thrill of actually producing something really worthwhile that you never thought you were capable of doing. But above all it's the course organisers, Rene and Erica who make it all jell together, for their patience and understanding and creating an atmosphere that makes it such a pleasure to attend each week.
Bridget Hughes - - #16173
These Colourwheel classes are value for money. They are well structured and organised to provide instruction in the use of differing media (which is provided). The course material and notes are emailed in advance of your weekly 3 hour lessons by Rene.
Erica who is a qualified and experienced teacher demonstrates the various techniques for the media and subject, then moves round the class assisting and encouraging the less proficient.
The friendly atmosphere can go from vibrant to silent concentration in minutes and is a haven from the outside world. Excellent venue and easy parking.
Mark May - - #16171
I absolutely love these classes. This is my third term. Erica and Rene are fantastic - everything is organised and provided, so that all we do as students is turn up and get on with the fun part. Erica's teaching skills are second to none, as she breaks things down into bite sized chunks, so that sometimes when faced with what seems impossible or beyond your capability, you really ARE amazed at what you can achieve. These classes are not only enjoyable, but actually give me three hours where I am completely absorbed, and switch off from the world. Bliss! Thanks Rene and Erica!
Michelle - - #16165
I have just completed my third term at Windsor, it is amazing! I have always loved art since I was at school and had been looking for a class I could join for some time. I trialled a class last May and thoroughly enjoyed it and signed up and have not looked back since.
It is my 3 hour respite each week, down time from a hectic job the rest of the week. The quality of the teaching is excellent and each week a different and exciting project is taught which is interesting, challenging and hugely enjoyable. We have used Indian inks, Watercolours, Pastels, Acrylics, Life Drawing and most recently Lino printing.
Both Rene and Erica are fantastic teachers, who encourage and inspire each week. Both classes are taught in a lovely setting which are easily accessed with plenty of parking and everything we need for the class is provided.
I highly recommend this course and look forward to returning next term!
Joanne Tunnicliffe - - #16160
You will not find a better course to teach you such a broad spectrum. Very professionally run and managed. Gets booked up very quickly!
Linda - - #16159
Just an enjoyable course. I have learnt so much and tried drawings/paintings I never thought I could manage. I keep coming back to learn more. Everything is provided and the tution is excellent plus being with friendly like minded people.
Marie - - #16155
I am about to complete my first term. I have already signed up for the next one! I am a beginner with a scientific brain and imagined I had no artistic talent. Erica and Rene bring out the very best in their pupils. The teaching is excellent and everytime I think I cannot complete a project I surprise myself. It is definitely possible to learn a new skill. The environment is fun and relaxing and I am totally absorbed throughout the lesson. A great way to switch off . I would highly recommend giving these classes a try. Everything is provided and you learn various techniques with different mediums. It has truly opened up a new world for me.
Keya - - #16152
4 courses ago, never having been anywhere near Art at school, I signed up to Colour Wheel. Every lesson we try out different media and approach different subjects on a termly basis. All the participants are friendly and the tutors, Rene and Erica, most helpful. It has been a pleasure to turn up on a Thursday morning, welcomed by newly made friends, to have 3 hours of me time, ignoring what is going on in the outside world, to take home a piece of artwork I never would have believed possible at the beginning of each session.
Diana Moss - - #16151
Love these sessions. I started last term and absolutely recommend to anyone who fancies having a go at art techniques without the fear of being judged.
Each week, there is so much to learn in a supportive and fun environment. The three hours just fly - and I come away feeling relaxed and wishing I could return for the afternoon. Organization and tuition are superb - a very, very satisfied customer. Thank you Rene and Erika .
Jill Webb-Morris - - #16149
I started as a true beginner who had done no practical art since leaving school and very little even then. Nevertheless, I have always loved works of art in a number of forms and felt it was time I discovered just how untalented I really was. (I do so hate talented people!) I quickly discovered that under the excellent guidance of the ColourWheel teachers that it is possible - almost - to make a silk purse out of a sows ear! The skills shown and acquired were remarkable in such a short time and it was most rewarding to take work home that was appreciated (at least by my 3 year old grand daughter!) I can strongly recommend the course. You will learn a lot of techniques and you will also enjoy the company of other mature students and the very pleasant teaching staff. Importantly, the classes are all held in charming locations with plenty of car parking.
Finlay Maclean - - #16148
Brilliant course. I have enjoyed learning new medias. Every week we touch on a different media to broaden our knowledge. All materials are supplied for us to use. We have used: Pencils, coloured pencils, watercolour pencils, pastels both soft and oil, ink to paint with and to mark make with pens, acrylics, watercolour paints. We have covered a wide range of subjects: landscapes, portraits, life drawings, still life, nature and street scenes to mention only a few.
I have improved my technique while among fun friendly people. the teaching is superb. its been worth every penny.
Maxine Walburn - - #16140
Great art classes - I have done 3 terms in Windsor, and have now moved over to Maidenhead. These classes are really inspiring, and I have made so much progress. It is my 'me time' and I love it! In fact I loved the classes so much that I have recently taken on the franchise for ColourWheel in Reading and I am now running my own classes there. I have continued to attend ColourWeel classes in Maidenhead as a student because I enjoy them so much.
Vivienne Abbott - - #16132
I began as a true beginner & am now on my 5th course with Colourwheel. I am enjoying every second! We have a lovely tutor, organiser & group of people. I am learning so much from all of them.
The quality of teaching is excellent & the range of projects are challenging, interesting & fun.
The classes are in a beautiful setting & everything you need is provided & more!!
I highly recommend this course. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!
