About the Course
Get away from it all into the Kent countryside for a day before Christmas and renew your creative and decorative skills.
To guide and inspire you are two experienced practitioner tutors - Jo Martel and Julie Davies, who teach regular art, textiles and floristry classes throughout Kent. A really interesting and satisfying day course awaits with them at the lovely Georgian farmhouse venue of Huntingfield B&B, in which to try stylish and contemporary ways to decorate your home this season, from front door to table.
You will learn how to combine floristry and creative textiles techniques to produce a winter wreath structure with decorated ribbons...and more! This versatile piece can be hung on any front door in the run up to Christmas, as is the traditional way to display. But after a home cooked lunch, Jo and Julie will show you how to develop it into a swiftly changed advent table decoration with candles and other embellishments.
This is a small and friendly day class with highly qualified teachers: Julie is an expert, well known Kent floristry tutor with a large social media following and after a career in formal exam teaching, Jo runs Art and Textiles wellbeing classes with a loyal student group. Together, their belief in enabling access to personalised learning has resulted in combining forces for this special one off event, giving you the opportunity to spend time investing in your creative and perhaps untapped potential.
The work you take home will equip you with versatile skills and give you the independence to produce individually designed, floral art for varied occasions in the future.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

Very relaxing, friendly and inspiring Wednesday craft classes. We have covered ceramic painting, block printing on paper (making our own blocks), stitching to make unique cards and felt flowers for fairy lights, knitting twine body mitts and making our own body scrubs. Jo is encouraging and supportive and will show you craft techniques - great if you have ever wondered or forgotten how to cast on or off! It's a wonderful way to decompress, and learn some new skills too.

Absolutely enjoyed our session today!!We had a family painting day out session at the beautiful setting by the creek. My 8yrs and 6yrs daughters love art and craft but I know nothing about art. There are a lot of places running art and craft activities during the summer holiday, but we wanted to go one step further, learning some painting skills as much as having fun. Jo was very friendly, knowledgeable tutor and very patient with my youngest daughter who was trying to go her own way.
This is the wonderful way of spending time with our children and we will definitely book another session soon.Thank you very much.

Thoroughly enjoyed my day with Jo and two lovely ladies who welcomed me into their home for the day. I hadn't touched a sewing machine in over 30 years but Jo is very knowledgeable and patient so my renewed experience of using the machine was stress free and I now feel I have the confidence to use my very antiquated Singer machine at home. Jo provided a variety of interesting materials and inspiration to enable me to experiment and produce a piece to be proud of. Thank you :O)

A really great course. My friend and I went together and were very pleased with the reverse applique pieces that we created. The tutor was very friendly, knowledgable and supportive. A wide choice of interesting materials were provided, and plenty of inspiration which encouraged me to experiment with different ideas and techniques. Can't wait for the next one. Thank you!

So enjoyed this course in a beautiful garden room setting. Jo is an incredibly knowledgable talented tutor, who has a very supportive encouraging way about her. Great choice of resources to choose from, as well as advise on how to use your own resources to best effect. Thank you, looking forward to the next one
