About the Course

The tutor will be teaching Gothic Old English, a bewitching and luxurious calligraphic alphabet; guiding you through the basics for 1.5 hours before a half hour break for lunch (bring your own, but there is tea, coffee and biscuits available at a small charge). During the lunch break you are invited to pop into our main workshop to see meet us all and see what other calligraphers have been learning in their workshop.

By the end of the three sessions, you will have learned the basics and be able to continue with your calligraphy. We pride ourselves on being a really friendly group of people who love calligraphy and want to share it with as many people as possible.

Sundays: Lower Withington Parish Hall, Salters Lane, Lower Withington, Macclesfield, SK11 9DX( near Jodrell Bank).
Starting at 11 am.

I have attended two of the beginner’s classes run by Northwest Calligraphers Association and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Andrew is a brilliant teacher with an in-depth knowledge of calligraphy having taught it for many years. His classes are relaxed and fun and he also makes sure that each person has time on a one to one basis with him to help with technique. This is a great starting point for learning calligraphy.
